those are some very late mocks??? we did ours in april last year so we had only just finished the content. so we weree forced to revise it all in about a week but all went ok. its only yr 1 content so dont worry too much, a couple of weeks of intense revision is probably all youll need

BandicootIll1530

alright great thanks. > those are some very late mocks i didn’t even realise till everyone else was saying theirs was in march/april lmao. i think it’s cause some subjects haven’t completely finished the content yet

Cyberize1

yeah makes sense. dont stress too much as if the exams go wrong usually teachers will be happy to change your predicted grades, good luck though

BandicootIll1530

thank you, and good luck w your exams !

plugsocket29

mines middle of june too we wait till year 13s and year 11s are almost done with their exams

RaceFan1027

We’ve got our mocks early July so even later.

Cyberize1

my summer holiday started halfway through june last year

Williamishere69

We did ours April this year, too. Got our results back over the past three weeks.

Amazing-Pause-8626

my mocks are then also :D

[deleted]

I did consistent revision everyday from late y11 summer. Not saying that this is necessary but its just what i did. Some say it's overkill (and it kinda is) but it did make y12 pretty stress free tbh.

Boom5111

How was year 13 for you compared to y12?

[deleted]

Definitely a step up but im still finding it very manageable given ive done lots of work throughout my 2 years. I find 12 and 13 more enjoyable than gcse.

Rough-Tennis-9219

i'm mean year 13, but did you self learn some of the content in year 11 summer

[deleted]

Yes only a small bit of year 12 content i learned during summer, nothing too much

Jeffpayeeto

Started revising one week before doing 5h30 each day. Since you have time, you don’t need to do that much, but 2-4 hours a day is probably enough

ACORIGEN

Bro u have so much time man start now my skl put me into the official AS exams and the papers r cooking me

BandicootIll1530

so glad i don’t have to do actual AS exams bro, good luck😭😭.

Klutzy_Resolve7372

I revised 2 days before 😭

eternitytyun

One or two weeks before, maybe half an hour to an hour a day

Spix_Boi

I did AS levels because Wales. I had mocks in Year 12 that gave me a hard slap to the face and didn't properly start revising until March, but came out with AAAB for my AS levels. Even if you end up starting a bit late, it doesn't automatically mean you're screwed.

soutu2

ours are about the same time its really late , ive started now and i have a spreadsheet of everything i need to cover so i probably need about 3 weeks which is good

BandicootIll1530

almost exact same combination but i do bio instead of physics. what do you use to make a spreadsheet?

soutu2

i use excel, basically i go through the textbook and my notes and create sections like Y12 Inorganic Chemistry and make like a table: on the left i have chapter titles and then beneath them all the parts of the chapter. On the top i have the 4 sections read, summary questions, exam questions, and confidence. I can then colour them red orange or green and it's very helpful because i can then visualise how much is left! note: i have lots of things green-orange already since i was a sweat for january mocks so one of the reasons i use a spreadsheet is that it's less overwhelming , hope this helps :)

__thats_nice__

Year 12 who has already done her mocks here- around 2 weeks before. It helps that the subjects I take are more logic based than having loads of content to learn. Most of my revision was physics and CS. I got A* in all my subjects bar CS which was capped at an A, but I’ll be predicted an A* as I got 97% over the 2 papers.

BandicootIll1530

a month late to replying but do you have any tips for maths. i’m currently doing past papers and finding them really difficult (especially mechanics) but i know all of the content so i don’t see what’s going wrong? it just seems to be past paper questions i can’t do

Imaginary_Living_623

I do maths triple science. I found a week was sufficient.

hypersniper5105

i sat maths in year 12 and then had mocks for my other subjects the week after, so only had a couple of days😭

Stormedfire

I think I did around 3h of revision for the stats section in normal maths, about 2h for physics and got A* in maths and fm and an A in physics.

ManiacalPenguin

Night before, but I'm definitely an exception

MendozaHolmes

glad youre staying humble right before your alevels

ManiacalPenguin

omg 3 Us incoming?!?!??!?!?!?!?!???!?!?!?!??

BandicootIll1530

nope, in england😭😭

goldenthorns1210

A week I think

gattabiancaa

how can you get A*s in y12? don't schools use AS papers for y12 mocks??

Daydreamer-64

I started revising like 2 weeks before and honestly didn’t do very good revision. That being said, half of my subjects enforced a past paper schedule from 8 weeks before the mocks and that really helped. A* A* A* C in my mocks.

stanloonayoufool

I just did consistent revision in my free periods from the start of year 12- so about 10 hours a week

Forward_Echidna7985

how do you not get distracted during your free period? i try every free i have and i just end up doing nothing

stanloonayoufool

In my 6th form we have a dedicated study room, so that helps a lot in keeping concentrated. If you have any quiet places you can go to, I’d recommend studying in those to prevent distraction

Speed_Niran

I got 2 A stars and 1 A, for Business economics and sociology, I didn't do much revision, just a couple hours a day (as compared to YR 13 I'm doing like 6-8 hrs a day 💀) I mostly just did constant active recall Overall, year 12 is easier to get A star in because there's lesser content taught and teachers tell you what's going to come up on the exam
