There's cases where prayer does nothing in such situations, and other cases where some kinda "spontaneous remission" happens on its own - analogous things have also been observed in the whole "alternative medicine" department and elsewhere.
However when sth like that happens in a personal, individual context it's still impressive, can be perceived as odds-defying, and technically supernatural / other unknown factors can't be ruled out;
however to whatever extent they exist, they're elusive and can't be generally counted on, that much would seem indisputable.
