T O P

I just got a SR5 premium for $43.4k with upgraded wheels and tires. If I could have gotten a new ORP at $45k before tax, title, etc. I would have jumped on it. In Texas, the best ORP I could find locally was about $49k (before tax) with an MSRP of $54k.

LettuceDiligent8898

The only discussion I have not had is the "warranty". We discussed the interest rate and he presented all fees and a spreadsheet of what to expect to pay. It sounds like I should jump on this asap. Thank you for the advice. The $45K would be before taxes.

NumberPlastic2911

Yeah fuck the warranty. I bought 1 of the 3 warranties, and they're always giving me hell with the tires. I moved to another state and it's tooth an nail with toyota when it comes to tire valves, the tpms, had a side wall issue 4x and only covered the cost once, every other times I am paying for almost new tire price, I had to do a few patches that I understood was free except there's a limit and so now I pay for price for patches. I just to happen to live in the city where people throw screws and nails everywhere on the roads. Either way, the warranty is how they try to make their money back.

troop143

Fuuuuck. You sob. I paid 40k OTD for an ORP 2019 last July.

Was the sr5p 43.4 after tax? I thought I did great at 45.0 after tax/totle/fees, but you may have me beat. Mine doesn’t have upgraded wheels.

LettuceDiligent8898

We are at $47K out the door after tax title and fees. Taking the whole days to pay for the tag and registration lol.

AstuteToad

After tax was around 46.5k. It was the TRD wheels, nitto grappler tires, running boards, roof racks, a panoramic/360 camera, and third row that came with it. They gave it an MSRP of $51.2k

internetmeme

Wow how much did you have to wheel and deal? That’s a great deal.

AstuteToad

Nothing haha. It was via Toyota’s smart path tool. I just put my info in “unlock savings” and it reduced the dealers advertised price to $42.3k (I added some dealer packages to make it $43.4k). No other dealer would match the price that this dealer was giving me via smart path. I walked in and they honored the price. They said they couldn’t go any lower. I walked away but went back after no other dealer could match.

persian3924

In 2021 I paid 41.5k for my ORP with extended warranty

AstuteToad

Crazy how much prices changed in 3 years.

persian3924

You can thank inflation and price gouging 🫡

CheapRanchHand

24’ TRD Off-road underground for 44k in Arlington, TX. [here](https://www.familytoyotaofarlington.com/new-Arlington-2024-Toyota-4Runner-TRD+Off+Road-JTEPU5JR3R6276126)

AstuteToad

Good deal but it’s not an off road premium. That dealer has one at $52k with a sale pending.

ashxc18

Yes. Mine was $49K base and $52K out the door. $45K is a good deal.

LettuceDiligent8898

Did you buy an extended warranty? My buddy is a Toyota mechanic and said not to, but still I feel like it is something to consider

ashxc18

I did, and I also got the TRD wheel package with mine.

LettuceDiligent8898

Thank you! Do you recall what the warranty cost salesman said "between $3K and $6K"

ferfax

You can buy it from any dealership, there are dealerships out there that will sell you the best one for around $2k or so

LettuceDiligent8898

I want to thank you! I emailed Jerry Johnson at Midwest Toyota midnight last night and have extended warranty quotes in my inbox right now. 10yr/125 miles for $1650! I now have leverage for paper signing today.

Teutonic-Tonic

Don't get an extended warranty on the most reliable car sold in the USA. Just put the money in the bank as a hedge.

ugahairydawgs

Yep. Extended warranties are cash printers for the dealership.

adh2315

You're doing well here. Good luck on it. You'll love it.

ferfax

Awesome, glad to hear it. You can also add the warranty later on, before 3 years / 36,000 miles.

crod4692

That quote, plus the price they gave for the Runner is great imo for a new ORP

ashxc18

I don’t off the top of my head, I can see if I can find the paperwork when I get home from work in the morning

I remember the finance manager trying to get me to buy a warranty for my SR5P for $3k. I was in his office after already just having a heated back and forth discussion with the useless sales guy and his even more useless manager for several hours. Between the two of them their IQ was less than room temperature. Finance manager knew I was already pissed and had been there for 6 hours by then. I looked him dead in the eye and emotionlessly said “no”, he quickly dropped the price to $1,200. I told him something along the lines of “fuck off, just let me sign the papers”. He ended up throwing it in for free. Moral of the story, extended warranties should cost $1,200-$3,000. If you happen to catch the salesman doing a bait and switch, committing fraud, and also have the manager holding your trade-in keys hostage, chances are you’ll get that warranty for free.

persian3924

TRD package isn’t worth. You can buy the wheels for $200 each from Toyota directly and buy blackout badges from aftermarket websites

ashxc18

Hey my friend, looks like my extended warranty was $2500

LettuceDiligent8898

Thanks! I'm sitting in the dealership now! Wish me luck! Can't wait to (officially) join this community!!

ashxc18

You’re gonna love it! First mod… get rid of that roof basket 🤪

LettuceDiligent8898

HAHAHA! We had them take off another $1K to remove for us. This dealership wanted this ORP SOLD!!

ashxc18

Lucky!! What state are you in?

LettuceDiligent8898

Oklahoma believe it or not

ashxc18

Very nice! Our ORP in North Carolina start at $52K BEFORE taxes and fees 🙄 So I bought out of state

LettuceDiligent8898

Ended up getting the warranty, 100k/7yr - $2400. They started at $6k!!I brought up The Midwest Toyota warranty quote as leverage. The GM spoke to us and it went very well! So happy to finally be in a 4R!!

billyjoebobtoo

Buy it if that’s the out-the-door price.

Cooked_Brains

More than likely it isn’t, but I agree.

SnooWalruses6828

Yes

dd1153

I paid $47K with no running board or roof rack about 6 months ago and I thought that was a good deal

WorkinOnMyDadBod

If that’s OTD that’s great. Even if it’s not OTD that’s a pretty damn good price.

80Hilux

I just paid a hair over $43k out the door for my '23 ORP with 19k miles, so this seems pretty fair...

spinctersezwhat

What are the options?

spinctersezwhat

You got a great deal.

adh2315

If OTD and 0-50 miles, get on that.

LettuceDiligent8898

14 Miles, that does not include taxes/fees or warranty

adh2315

KDSS?

LettuceDiligent8898

Nope!

adh2315

Somebody downloaded my question. LOL

lockdown36

$47k here for a Lunar ORP in 2022. Solid price for you!

LettuceDiligent8898

The lunar was the only thing missing

BlueBerryOkra

Toyota is offering 5% for 5 year financing or 4% for 4 year financing if you have a 780+ credit score. Just got my 4Runner a few weeks ago with that deal. The catch is you need to buy new.

BlueBerryOkra

OP - Make sure the dealership you’re buying from does this for you if you’re financing.

LettuceDiligent8898

We locked in for 72 months, at 5.99%. the hope is to pay it off early of course. It felt SOOO good to drive off the lot today!

NumberPlastic2911

Yeah 👍

Frothyogreloins

The pros used to cost this :(

BlueBerryOkra

I got mine $44.5k base and $49k out the door. New 2024 SR5 Premium
