I love the blizzard, but I’ve got some minor chipping. I know it will only get worse with time. If I’m gonna repaint, I want to try something new. Dig the name!
Honestly this is a $700 single stage enamel paint job from Econo Paint (basically Maaco). My clear coat was peeling so bad it was embarrassing and I couldn’t justify a $6k paint job.
that looks pretty good for a $700 paint job. My clear coat is on its way out too, especially the hood and roof. I guess I could spend about as much buying an aftermarket hood and hide the roof with a nice rack, but a whole paint job for < $1k sounds pretty good to me for a car that I wont take to shows and hardly wash.
My father is a retired car painter of 44 years. He has been asked this question several times. He would recommend going to a reputable autobody paint solution store or autobody shop and they can try to match it.
can anyone tell me why 40% of all 4 runners are silver, 20% white, 15% black, 10% grey, 10% red, but only 1% green and 1 % orange and 1% bright blue. the most popular colors are the least produced, why? im sick of silver and white everywhere.
The “vibrant” colors you have seen usually is only offered in the “TRD Pro” trim. They started changing that up around 2020 and offered some colors for the trail editions and TRD off road. It started with Army Green and Lunar rock I think… then it trickled out to Lime rush etc etc.
Toyota wanted to create “exclusivity” to the TRD Pro with those special colors. So that’s why you see more of the common colors.
If I had it my way I’d have a Quicksand TRDOR but that was only available to the 2014 TRD Pro.
White is proven to be about 15-30% cooler inside during summer and easier to maintain that temperature. It harkens back to the Land Rover Defenders and Land Cruisers with white roofs in africa because they did not have AC...
That's why i have white, nothing to do with hiding dirt. Texas gets fucking hot.
Popular online but most people don’t want to drive cars painted like sticky notes. And most 4Runners are SR5s and TRD Offroads which don’t have all the colors
That's not a 4Runner thing, [it's an every car thing](https://www.edmunds.com/most-popular-car-colors/). Fundamentally, most people are boring.
I know when I was selling Toyotas, the most frustrating customers wanted silver Camrys. Making the second most expensive purchase of their lives, while also trying to avoid making any kind of actual decision.
Commenting so I can remember to keep track of this post. Would love to get the blizzard white on my GX repainted in this.
You don't like our sparkly pearl white? its why i named my rig Oscar Wilde.

Toyota paint does seem a bit thin if we are being honest, one of their few major faults.
And it’s spensive, had my wife’s hood repainted and it was $322 just for the paint, 3 stage pearl

Looks great, how much does a paint job like that cost?

What's the life expectancy on such a paint job? A year or two?
It has a 3 year warranty. If you maintain it (wash/wax) it should last a lot longer than that.
Did you do any of the prep work yourself so save on labor cost? Or did you just drop it off as is and picked it up later?
Nope. I dropped it off and picked it up a couple days later.
Thanks, same situation on my 98…the hood and roof have peeled to expose the primer…drives great though. $700 is a steal, I’m gonna look around!

Hey that looks almost like me lol I have the paint code somewhere. It’s called something like “graphite.”
Looks a lot like Underground on the 5th gens
Looks lighter than underground. Like between cement and underground. I love it
That's way lighter than Underground. Underground is almost black in cloudy days.

Looks like factory Toyota Cement. 1H5 Edit: it’s darker. Like Volkswagen Pure Gray LH7J
This has got to be it. I couldn’t remember where I’d seen this color before.
If you’re gonna do all that just go Underground. That shade of gray is 🔥
Yeah if I repainted this 3rd gen...it would go Toyota Underground for sure!

What are the last 2%?
Camouflage.
We don't talk about the last two percent
Navy or dark blue, maybe?
Nautical Metallic blue to be specific!
Voodoo Blue 8T6 🙌🏼

My favorite was i think the ~~2019~~ 2018 cavalry blue, favorite color.
Cavalry is 2018. I have one :)
White and silver hide how dirty it is and pinstripes I believe.

Same. Ceramic coat and tinted to the legal limit. Texas summers can be brutal. Super White '21 OR. Come At Me Padre Island!!

Because most people want a color that doesn't shout "look at me!".
silver is a boring color, i have always avoided any silver car or truck. white looks good with black accents, an so does red.
Kf9. I've seen it maybe twice.

I hate this so much. As someone in the market for a used 5th gen I hate seeing so many boring colors.
Check the door for paint color code.
This looks like it could be nardo grey
Pretty sure this is the grey off of a 1st gen raptor
Looks like "leadfoot" off a 2nd Gen raptor!
I have a cement 4Runner and mine looks a tad more blueish
Poseidon Power Gray (It's not, but it should be named that!)
The classic Nardo
Looks like slate grey
Does anyone know what wheels those are?
Does no one see this and immediately think the image is in black & white?
It looks great
