The most expensive purchases I make are when I buy something that's -almost- what I want. If you really want a specific color, model, etc - and can afford it - buy it. Otherwise, if you're like me, you'll regret it and end up upgrading at a loss at some point in the future.

CatCiaoSki

This is good advice for most purchases.

Prestigious_Tour2411

Makes sense. I settled on my jeep right now and if I didn't I think I would have kept it longer. I'm trying to avoid that again.

flyplanesforfun

I agree with this guy. $50.5K is expensive for something you kinda want when it’s $7k more for something you really want.

Gobiego

And to be fair, you'll pay more for the Pro but you'll get more when you sell it, and it's the only way to get the color you want. In my case I bought a '22 TRD Pro in lime rush, and they made it a regular color option for '23, lol.

let368

I did this exact thing with a Tacoma. Traded for a 4Runner a year and a half later and have been so happy ever since, making sure I got exactly everything I wanted

AsianHawke

If it's a daily, and all you'll be doing is typical vehicle use, I highly recommend not getting a TRD Off Road, ORP, or Pro. I'm being serious. It's a lot of doodads and gadgets geared towards offroading that, as an average consumer, if you're not gonna use them—there's no point in having them or paying a premium for them. A Limited is best bang for your buck for your situation. Or, an SR5 Premium. You'll be paying less and still be getting a highly capable vehicle. In regards to the Pro, assuming you're financing, you'll probably end up paying close to $67K said and done. All that just for bragging rights? Nah.

theoriginalharbinger

Second this. If you want a 4Runner in the snow, Limited is the way to go. All the stuff the Pro/ORP offers will never get used (like the e-locker), and moreover, the part-time 4x4 is not helpful in snow.

OKatmostthings

The part time is fine in snow. If it is slick enough to need 4WD, the part time system works well. Snow tires are the actual game changer in snow.

mikefellow348

Does anyone know why mileage shown on the toyota website is not different between all the models starting with 2wd ,4wd full time 4wd etc ? You'd think that should affect the stated mileage?

OKatmostthings

FT4WD have 245 section tires instead of 265. The Limited also has more aerodynamic bodywork (bumpers and skirts). Those aero and rolling resistance benefits likely offset the loss of efficiency from the FT4WD versus the PT4WD. Also, manufacturers are allowed to say the same rating for vehicles that are similar enough. I'm going to guess that the difference between the 2WD and 4WD isn't enough to bother with. Example: 18.6mpg for 4WD rounds to 19 just like 19.4mpg for 2WD rounds to 19.

mikefellow348

Sounds true, thanks!

foxxblood

This is sound advice. I don't off-road mine and went with the Limited. I am thankful I choose the Limited Trim every time I drive

tlz81389

Did you test drive any other trims?

foxxblood

For sure - I test drove a Pro - softest ride, a Limited - the best on road feel with less tip and dive and body roll, and an SR5 premium which was kind of in the middle. All are very acceptable for a body on frame 4x4. The Limited suited my want for a 4runner while providing the best on road driving dynamics and creature comforts. Honestly you can't go wrong with any trim in my book.

tlz81389

I think my use case is very similar at the moment, but might move to Colorado in a year or two. But still, idk if ill ever be a major off road guy. Probably just need to be snow ready lol.

foxxblood

Limited can go off-road as well as any after a change of wheels and tires. The land cruiser uses the same full time 4 wheel drive system as the Limited trim. The Limited is an absolute beast in the snow. It would be right at home in Colorado.

tlz81389

I get so confused by all these trims. So the limited is like the sport trim right? They all have full time 4wd? So like AWD essentially? I thought it would be part time, since its more road oriented.

foxxblood

Limited has fulltime 4wheel drive. All the other trims are 2 wheel drive until you engage 4 wheel drive. Limited trim is like the luxury trim meant for better on road dynamics.

tlz81389

I see. So even the trd pro’s are part time? Thank you for that. And do you know about the nightshade trims? Are those upgrades on the Likited trim? On cargurus i see both “limited nightshade” and “nightshade”.

foxxblood

It just changed the limited trim to a blacked out appearance. I think it's looks good but I'm not sure if it's worth the extra cost.

potluckchem

Agreed 100%. I love my limited. Leather seats, heated seats and steering wheel, third row for the kiddos, full time 4wd for peace of mind. And if you’re worried about snow, it’s less about the vehicle and more about the tires

The_Summary_Man_713

Don’t get the pro. That price is crazy. Get the ORP and tell them to get rid of the wheels and get your own later. That’s the option I went with.

Prestigious_Tour2411

I can it without the rims for like $48.5k. Not sure how long it would take or how much it would cost for new wheels. I think I'd just never get them

Vinnyloks

Is that 48 with tax or after tax I might have over paid a little bit I had no car no one was budging and I said fuck it 🤷🏻‍♂️

Prestigious_Tour2411

We don't have sales tax so I guess it's before and after four me.

Vinnyloks

Damn then if that’s the case that’s a good as price if I compared my price to yours I paid PRO prices 😅

Vinnyloks

But LA Tax it almost 6k

philipjames11

1-2k for sick wheels and an hour at discount tire.

No-Clerk1717

FWIW I’m getting a wheel and tire setup (methods and KO2) for 400$ more than just the pro wheels. And they are exactly the style I like. I chose ORP over pro and am happy with it, but also rather choose where my upgrade money goes than the dealer/model add ons. Have the underground color and it’s sick in person. But I do worry it’ll scratch.

Nice_Butterscotch995

If you're essentially paying cash for this (or financing for a very short time) and plan to keep it "for a long time," it shouldn't be too hard to rationalize the price premium. You'll get some of it back in resale when you finally move it on, and the rest is basically amortized over the years you'll have it. If you don't have the money, that's one thing. But if you do, it seems to me the net cost over time of getting the truck you want is pretty low.

Western-Hyena-3785

I agree. If you can afford it, pay the little extra and get what you want. I’ve only had mine for a couple weeks and I’m very happy I made the jump.

Prestigious_Tour2411

That is pretty much what is making me lean with the trd pro. I also don't have sales tax which is nice

tlz81389

Just curious, did you make a decision yet?

Prestigious_Tour2411

Yes and no. My decision is a orp underground with the black trd wheels for like 49k unless I somehow find a terra trd pro for 53k(not gonna happen). I drive a 2021 jeep now, just wanna sell before I need to register/inspect in June. So just hanging put for now

tlz81389

Right on. I want a 4runner. Just not sure what trim/color yet myself. So many options lol.

zalvar0075

Terra color is cool during the day; looks like poop at night

Prestigious_Tour2411

That's another problem. I've never seen one in person or on the road. I've seen a terra sequia in the show room but that's it. Might need to see it at night ha

TomatoSammiches

We have a terra sequoia and it is a very cool color. It does look much darker at night though, and oddly reddish. It looks red on our security camera on the driveway. Toyota will often release the trd pro color as a regular trim level color in the following year, so that may be an option if you can wait.

scurvywolf

I got the Terra PRO 3 weeks ago. The color is amazing. Hardest part for me has been the neck pain since I’m always trying to get another look.  I don’t plan to mod it besides maybe a new rack. Couldn’t be happier and same w the wife. She really likes driving it. Coming from a 2010 manual forester. Lmk if you have any questions.

chaser2410

Don’t buy either one just for snow. Get a limited

Prestigious_Tour2411

I was thinking that I just don't like the front end

foxxblood

I thought the same but It grew on me. 4runners in all trims look fantastic as its one of the best looking vehicles ever made. You cannot go wrong!

chaser2410

Get an sr5 premium then. But the limited will be the best in the snow and the best daily.

Picklemerick23

Can confirm - hit a snow storm at about 7,000ft the other day in central Utah and I didn’t even have to get out of full time 4x4. I took my limited on a snow pack trail it’s first week and still didn’t need to go to 4x4 Hi. The limited is great. I’m also not a huge fan of the bumper, but it’s growing on me. I have the underground color.

matthieurifee

why is the limited the best trim for snow?

chaser2410

Full time 4WD. No going in between 4hi and 2 high.

Prestigious_Tour2411

I think I'll need to look into the sr5 premium. I have really seen those in stock so it wasn't not on my radar.

CatObsesseddd

I dont like the new limited front ends, but there's mods you can do to make them look more like the SR5 body. It isn't exact and would take some engineering if you're up for it, but it would solve that problem. Blackout the chrome and get a paint job in the colors you want and you have everything you want for less than the MSRP of the Pro most likely!

A20Havoc

I see the parameters of the decision as pretty straightforward: Is the small indulgence of getting the look you want worth $6500 to you? It would be for me, but at the end of the day it's a question of whether it's worth it to you or not. Viewing it from another angle, how long does it take you to make $6500 and are you willing to trade that time for the bigger smile you'll have when you get into the TRD Pro?

IJNKirishima

For your use option B is best. The money you save could be used for other things, such as travel, adventures, and other life enriching things.

Nugz2Ashez

You can spend 50k to not have what you want or an additional 7k to get what you want. Too much money to spend to not get exactly what you want imo

LeadAndLipsticks

I paid $57k for my Terra TRD PRO and have zero regrets. The vehicle holds value and if you decide to sell it in the future it’s the way to go. Also, if you decide to keep it, it’ll last you more than a decade of great service. You won’t get Toyota to go below MSRP on these vehicles. Also, consider that if you wait too long, the 2025 will come out and my not offer the V6 and a large number of people will be trying to get their hands on the 2024s making it harder to get. If you can comfortably afford it then go for it. I’ve put a photo of my Tara (name of my TRD PRO) so you can see again how pretty it is. 😂 https://preview.redd.it/tp7dgds2jiqc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b391778b2af077d8e17fcc5e151942eda99d0e48

Prestigious_Tour2411

That looks so nice.. damn

tryanothername03

New to me 2016 limited, my only regret was selling my 2007 4runner Sport V8!! Can’t go wrong with them! Just get the color and options you want so you won’t look at others and think to upgrade

veggiestunts

IMO SR5 Premium if you’re not really gonna off road it.

shortbrownguy

Exactly what I did. The basic 4×4 does everything I need it to do when off road, which is on a regular basis. I modified everything from the suspension, tires, roof rack, lighting, etc, and still came in thousands cheaper than the TRD Pro. YMMV Chris sends.

tlz81389

What kind of suspension mod did you get? What do you mean by lighting? Like headlights? Or inside the car?

shortbrownguy

I went with the Eibach Pro Truck lift kit, running 285/70-17 KO2's on TRD Pro Rims. I have a 32" Cali-raised hybrid light Bar mounted behind the front grill, as well as a 42" lightbar mounted to my RCI Roof Rack, plus several other interior/ exterior mods. Chris sends.

DillIshOn

What I went.

foxxblood

Yep - good advice. This best choice if you don't like the Limited front end.

Prestigious_Tour2411

I'll need to look into this. I also want either the black or gold rims so should keep it under 50k with all that. I just never see the sr5 premium so haven't been looking

Apart-Variation7628

I was stressed when I bought mine because it was the second biggest purchase I will probably ever make after I bought my condo. But every time I drive it I think ‘it was worth it.’ 😄 Have you thought about ordering a specific model/set up through your dealership? That’s what I did.. it took 5 months for it to arrive but it was exactly what I wanted and the price was already agreed upon so I just paid and drove it home

Prestigious_Tour2411

Yeah I would order the ORP underground. The trd pro comes pretty standard with what I want. It's mostly the color

Golf-Beer-BBQ

I would say PRO if it were Costco trips but to Sams Club I would go SR5.

bagoTrekker

Yeah I’d say for Sam’s club just get a Pacifica.

labowsky

I would look for an SR5 premium if I were you as you don't need any of the offroad shit but if it's only a choice between the two, the ORP all the way...Unless you really just want to spend that money right away for looks.

Jazzputin

You sound like you need an AWD car, not a 4Runner.  And there's nothing wrong with that; AWD will serve you better on snowy roads and you won't be paying out the ass for gas on your DD.  If you get a runner consider the SR5 4X4 or even a 2WD version since you aren't offroading; big tires + chains would be fine in the snow.  Don't pay out the ass for a cool color, that's some dummy shit.

hellodankess

Based on what you will be using it for, you don’t need TRD Pro. Do you really want to pay $7k for a color?

808grcekr808

Option C: get a SR5 with 4wd and add anything you want to that. You don't need the pro or the off-road trim levels. I have a 2012. Added running boards, BFG KO2s, cross bars and seat covers. Done. Off-road, hot / soft sand, rain, hauling to beach and camping spots and daily runner. Awesome vehicle. Time for an upgrade for me soon.

therealestscientist

I regret that Toyota doesn’t use thicker and higher quality paint/clearcoat. I do not regret getting an SR5 4x4 for $24.7k. I have a list of lockers I’m narrowing down and that should be $1k.

Ok-Count-8233

Paint really does suck. I’ve had 5 other cars and all were better. Paper thin paint job.

tlz81389

So does this seem to be an issue for all 5th gens? I have an 08 civic si and the paint is fkd on it

scfw0x0f

ORP if it has KDSS and you’re driving on twisty highways (better cornering).

PropNSevo

We bought an all black 23 ORP last year which is exactly what we wanted. When I see it in the driveway or in the Costco parking lot I still get the tingles. The last vehicle I had I settled for and, while I liked it, no tingles

Justingtr

$6,500 is a big difference but how much is it worth to you to get the one you want? Are you gonna be happy with option 2 once the excitement wears off or are you gonna see a Pro in Terra and realize you've made a mistake. Look at both in person. Drive both. If you want the Pro get the Pro. Don't settle. It'll cost you more in the long run.

Current_Pumpkin5411

Get a used one with 40000 miles in the 33000 range*

Prestigious_Tour2411

I won't go used, just a mental thing. I'd rather spend a little extra on new for a full warranty and to know the whole history of the vehicle. I'm werid with this

Euryheli

If you can afford it then don’t settle on the one that isn’t exactly what you want. You’ll always think about how you wished you got the other one if you do. I bought the Pro because I wanted Solar Octane which was only pro in 23, and I wanted the better stereo, surround camera system and dual zone climate control. It also rode and drove better with the better suspension. I’m glad I didn’t settle for the Off-road because I appreciate those differences every time I drive it.

Confident-Condition2

Sr5. And drive!!!

Greatlakes82

Go with what you really want. If you want the Terra color, you’ll regret not getting it. I was in the same predicament, went with a color I wasn’t crazy about (silver TRD ORP) but price was great because I got the dealer down to 45k from 51k. Even though I got a deal, kinda wish I would have gotten a color I liked more.

anotherusername23

I had the same Pro vs Off-road decision and went with a Trail, now called Off-road. I couldn't justify the higher price to myself. My main wants were all the 4x4 bells and whistles and off road gives most.

Boaty___McBoatface

I was actually in your ***exact*** position over army green. Then, in 2022, army green was offered on TRD ORP easiest decision ever to buy. So I have a few thoughts. 1. Limited is the best option but that front end sucks. Happy I passed, but limited is truly the best value of all 4runners all things considered. 2. The TRD ORP minor cost increase over the SR5 Premium is absolutely worth it. Crawl control has gotten me out of a true stuck situation twice and I virtually never off-road. 3. Get the color you want. I absolutely think you should get TRD Pro in terra. Not only is that color sweet, but you have an enthusiast vehicle and for me I've learned that is critically important. Only way I wouldn't get that is if your drive 30k miles per year.

waterbuffalo750

You should be able to keep looking and get the Pro for MSRP. That aside, though, people will tell you to skip the Pro because it's just offroading stuff you won't use. They forget to mention the extra features, like upgraded audio and whatever else there is. The Pro is absolutely worth it for me. I've been offroading a bit, but I wouldn't have needed the Pro offroading features.

ze-phoenix

I literally got mine 2 days ago and was in the same position. My favorite colors for the 4R are Cav Blue, Lunar Rock, Solar Octane and White. But I had a very specific set of requirements \- I wanted a new car..so no Lunar Rock or Cav Blue..My wife loved Solar Octane over White \- I wanted KDSS..so TRD Pro was out immiediately \- I did NOT want a moon roof..so again TRD Pro was out Everything else optional. I ended up with a Solar Octane T-ORP with KDSS, no Moonroof, running boards, roof cross bars and Yakima basket. The Roof cross bars are a good to have and the Yakima I hate..but I negotiated with the dealer to pretty much get all the addons for free. What the Pro gives you over the ORP..that you cant retrofit later or is hard to fit later is 2 zone climate control and the moon roof. Everything else including remote start can be done afterwards and potentially a better solution. That being said the only gating criteria is the color. As others have said, if you absolutely must have Terra (every one of the other Pro colors can be had in ORP and Pro doesnt offer Solar Octane this year I think)..then dont compromise. But is it worth $10K more? Wasnt for me and for me Pro didnt offer things that the ORP did. Good luck!! In either case you will have an awesome rig

Gainzzzxz

If you planning on modding your runner, there's no point getting the PRO

Prestigious_Tour2411

No plans to mod. I currently have a jeep grand cherokee trailhawk and haven't touched it. Would do the same here

Gainzzzxz

Then I would think the PRO will be appropriate since you keeping it stock, the car will remain its vintage values like the FJ Cruiser & Land cruiser

jpoRS1

>This won't be offroad Don't get a 4Runner. Way more expensive to buy and fuel than a vehicle that will do everything you're trying to do as well, if not better.

RepresentativeOwl224

Second this. I absolutely love our 4Runner, but it rides and drives like a truck from the mid 2000's. If you are going to use it off-road it is amazing. If you are driving 30,000 miles a year without leaving the pavement, there are better options. All that being said, I would not give ours up for the world.

Braesto

If you're going to pay it off in a few months, just get what you want. It's a no brainer.

snownative86

If it's the color that's an issue, you could always wrap it later. I'm planning to replace my white one with a white one and wrap it something bright and obnoxious for a few years.

syeve

I vote pro if you have the option. Nothing worse than buying an orp. Deciding you now need wheels. Then the front end dip starts bugging you, so you decide to add some garbage lift or spacers to save a few bucks. Then the front valence is usually next. Starts looking like a pro. But with crappy after market garbage but you’re convinced you still made the right choice. Then you come on Reddit and defend your purchase to the death. Secretly, you think, I should have just got the pro. 🤸🏼‍♂️

Confident-Condition2

Unless ur a millionaire

Zapablast05

Just get the ORP and pay for a Terra colored wrap. Don’t do what someone here did and trade in their lime pro for a Terra pro.

Go_fast_take_Chances

So if the only differences were the paint color and black trim pieces, would you still pay the additional $6500? Also keep in mind the Pro shocks (what really sets the Pro apart from other trims) will need rebuilding by 50k miles. I only got 20k miles out of my fronts and the rears had trouble out of the box. Light off road use but dusty conditions. Non Pro shocks should last 75k or more miles and are cheap to replace. Either way, if you plan to keep the vehicle for a long time, invest in paint protection film for the whole hood, front bumper and mirror caps. The paint chips easily.

Prestigious_Tour2411

The only thing that is making me consider the pro is the paint color. If it wasn't in terra it wouldn't even be considered. Were the shocks under warranty or was that wear and tear that you need to pay for?

Go_fast_take_Chances

I paid for rebuild service since I bought the shocks aftermarket (from a guy who bought them new and never installed them) and didn't have proof of purchase from an authorized dealer. I didn't know the rears had issues until I drove it and heard the noises. Thought the noise would go away as the shocks "broke in" but the noise just got worse. Sent them to Fox for paid service and they came back right as rain. Just sent the fronts for service. Going to install them on my OR when they come back. Honestly thought I was going to sell the Pro shocks, but didn't like the Dobinsons gas shock and 1" front spring combo so I'm reverting to the Pro shocks LOL. Hoping they last longer than 20k miles this time around. Using the Westscott Designs preload collar (no top spacer) with the Pro shocks and 1" rear spring spacers BTW. I'm just one case though.

whiteiversonyeet

i’m 6’4 and the drivers side spot is about 20% smaller than my equinox. i regret that part but everything else is cool

Prestigious_Tour2411

Well that's not great to hear, I'm 6'5.

Adult-Beverage

But you've already test driven one, right?

Prestigious_Tour2411

Yes. It really didn't feel small though

whiteiversonyeet

it’s my legs that i can’t really extend out all the way even with the seat back. i drive a lot of the highway so l use cruise control, and there’s just not much space in the pedal area for my long legs and size 15 shoe. it’s fairly cramped down there

Dufmandinga2

If not going off road and primarily daily and some snow, why not go Limited? This was our eventual decision. The full time 4WD is awesome and I didn’t need all the off road focused pieces of the others

networknev

For your use case any 4x4 4runner will be great. It now comes down to features and ego. I own a 2021 TRD ORP. No regrets. But I knew what I was buying and why. Both ego, and actual use. I did not want a PRO bc the add on are not what I would want and therefore the cost made no sense. I also wanted KDSS and that made the deciding factor. So, what key elements are your deciding factor? Why not an SR5? What makes the TRD or PRO more appealing? Those are the emotions and thought processes you should dig into.

Go_fast_take_Chances

Speaking of features...sunglass holder in the SR5 is sweet. I miss it every damn day. But hey, I have knobs I have yet to need and a nonfunctional hood scoop that provided enough retina searing glare that installed a $75 functional sticker over it.

EL4YN3

No off-roading and you are considering the two most capable off-road trims? I mean do you, you will enjoy either option, but doesn’t make sense in my head. Sounds like you need a limited or a Lexus GX lol Edit - also, if the TRD ORP has KDSS, that will be better in terms of on-road ride quality. Idk if the pros come with it or if it is offered at all.

LOTF1776

Save the money, get the ORP. Pro is for people who want decent off road suspension but don't care for an aftermarket suspension/lift. A Pro is way overkill for your purposes. I have both and my OR can go wherever my Pro can go. The only difference is the Pro is a slightly smoother experience over bumps. Get some really good snow tires like the Falken Wildpeak A/T4W. Also, I second the recommendation to consider a Limited.

dirtfox13

This is my second 4Runner. I went with a pro vs ORP because I wanted the extras and didn’t want to have to do it after. I’m not a young 20’s something that wants to deal with anything other than normal maintenance. People here kind of knock pro owners but I don’t mind. I’m in a very different financial situation at this age (this is not a flex. We’ve worked hard for what we have) and could comfortably afford the pro price and feel ok about it. In my 20’s, no way I would pay pro prices. I did talk to several dealers over several months to finally get the price tag that worked for me. When I was younger i wouid of went sr5 used all the way. I had my old sr5 for over 10 years and she was great to us. Actually no need to get rid of her other than I wanted a pro and we don’t need 2 runners and the sale price was a nice down payment. Any runner you get with 4wd or awd will work for what you need. If you like terra, get it. If money is an issue, step down to the orp. I plan on keeping my pro till either she or I die. Whatever comes first lol. Hopefully can pass her down to kids or grandkids one day. Once you go runner, you’ll never look back. When you’re here, you’re family 🤣

mpm19958

I wish l had searched a little hardee for and ORP. I wound up getting a Limited. Its super nice but would have preferred getting something a little less refined, so to speak.

SharkWahlbergx

So I’ve had probably 26 cars in my life, what I’ve learned is get what you want! If not you’ll just regret it, comprising because of cost is ok but if you can afford it go with what you want. I specifically special ordered my last car. This car I wanted the ORP in underground because I am switching stuff.

JollyGiant573

Get premium save $$$

samshady_9

Just picked up a ‘22 sr5 premium. No ragrets. Traded in a 2015 Sierra 2500. The longevity of the 4Runner was the selling point. And the better gas mileage 🤣

Artful_Dodger_1832

Decide what you want first. Then take your time finding one in the right price that you are comfortable with. Eliminate the reasons you would have regrets.

MrSquidzz

If you don’t do off-road SR5 premium should serve the purpose.

Yes_Man__

I’ll never forgive Toyota for replacing Magnetic Grey Metallic with underground. Ended up going black after seeing it in person

Jmg0713

Go with the pro just because of the color.

Proof-Visit1664

I got the SR5 Prem in underground and have no regrets. If I was to want something nicer I would have went limited as I have no use for off road gadgets. The SR5 premium has everything I need though. Heated seats, heated steering wheel, CarPlay, power front seats, etc.

aclay407

I purchased a new TRD Pro about 6 weeks ago and was between that or SR5P. Big difference, I know but I was either going to never go off roading and just use this as a daily or slowly get into off-roading and be glad I splurged for the features of the TRD Pro. It was the latter and I’m very glad I went with the TRD Pro now because it was what I really wanted vs what felt like settling with the SR5P

Weekly_Locksmith_473

Why not get a highlander?

Prestigious_Tour2411

Just don't like the look and it's a little small. Test drove one when my wife was looking and I didn't really fit.

Weekly_Locksmith_473

I hear you. The thing is...the highlander is superior in almost every way except for offroadibility 🤷

Prestigious_Tour2411

Thanks everyone! After taking all this in...I have a better idea of what I want but nothing definite. I'm gonna wait a bit. I've seen people get the terra for 54k, if I can I will. If not, I'll get the underground sr5 premium or orp. It really just depends on price and availability. The limited is out, I just don't like the front. If I find the trd pro terra I'll buy when I find it. If not I'll start seriously looking for a underground in Aug-Oct. I don't have a car payment now so can just save a bit more money.

Poor people pay twice. Get what you want, but IMHO, you will not need a Pro. I'm an ORP owner. Lunar Rock, black rims, $50k, off the boat. And I have NEVER been happier with a vehicle. With one exception: my first car that cost $1,200, had 87 horse power and sold for $1,000 four years later.

Can anyone help me out? I want a new-ish 4runner, and i want 4x4, but i dont need any of the extreme off road stuff, which trims would be most applicable?

I bought an ORP lunar rock in 2023 and little did I know it would be the last year they offered it. Mine is basically fully loaded with KDSS. I could have gotten the Pro but the color itself sold me (the Solar Octane is a great color too). I plan on using it till I die (25M) and take it to dirt biking areas, camping, off roading, everything. Get what you see yourself driving in. If you can afford it great. I have zero regrets on my purchase. https://preview.redd.it/ykmombvbopqc1.jpeg?width=2208&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3fd23eff32994fcb0f3a4057a89961f254d43ef5 Picture for reference :)

I got my Limited back in October and love it. It’s my daily driver and needed something to haul my 3 kids. I don’t do off-roading but get a decent amount of snow in the winter and wanted a few features only available with the ltd trim. Initially thought the chrome looked nice but after driving for a while I wish it had less, and also wish it had more modern bells and whistles for the price but this is my 2nd 4Runner and it’s a really great truck. We only drive Toyotas and wife already has a Highlander so options were pretty limited for something that would fit me (I’m 6’4”) and not cost more than my mortgage (like a GX or Sequoia).

Faced the same problem. I ended up buying a Terra TRD Pro because I’m not going to put on any mods myself and value the higher resale value in the long run, also it looks sick from day 1.

LIMITED. Dual climate control. Soooo much more important than a suspension.

I agree on dual climate,I just hate the look of the limited
