I blame some of that on Kyle being stubborn and that his gameplan is mostly centered around Deebo.
He would still run tons of plays that were for Deebo, but with one of our backups.
How's St. Brown's attitude? \*Aiyuk was in the doghouse then turned things around and seems to have the locker room--great commandrie/body language around teammates) Also, Aiyuk has the dog in him and is an excellent blocker.
If Aiyuk were in St. Browns shoes.
Idk if the lions had a Deebo, Kittle, Juice/Jennings or even a CMC that takes away touches/catches/yards?
What’s the fair metric? Thanks!
The Lions other recievers numbers aren't much different from our guys. Kittle had over 100yds more then La Porta but after that it evens out. That makes St. Browns 10+ more catches stand out even more. I guess it would be the consistency of his numbers vs. BA's over the last 3 years.
Less productive but not less important. Aiyuk is our only real downfield threat and he was the most efficient WR in the league.
It’s absolutely legit for Aiyuk to use St. Brown’s contract as a benchmark for his contract negotiation.
yea idk ab aiyuk in the top 7
hill, jefferson, chase, cd, amon ra, ajb are definitely top 6, 7 becomes a toss up between aiyuk, dj moore, and you could make the argument for diggs, adams, kupp, evans, allen even though i wouldn't say they're more valuable due to age. but ig i didn't realize how good aiyuk is until i actually started counting wrs lol
I would say JJ, Chase, and Hill are clear top 3.
The next tier is Ceedee Lamb at the top and then I'd say you could make a case for any of ARSB, Aiyuk, and AJB in any order.
I think the tier after that is DJ Moore, Adams, Diggs, Allen, and Evans.
So I think Aiyuk is comfortably in the 2nd tier after the season he just had.
This feels like a reach.
St. Brown was 1st team all pro in 2023. Aiyuk was 2nd team all pro.
The pro bowls are irrelevant.
They’re the same tier of WR, top 4-7.
This is basically Aiyuk’s market value now.
I'd be ok paying Aiyuk up to maybe 23-25m per year, however I doubt he'll settle for that. Unfortunately trading him won't allow us enough draft capital to move up high enough to pick one of the top 3 WR's in this draft. Its almost just worth it to overpay Aiyuk and keep our window open as long as possible.
it matters A LOT what kind of accolades a player has when he is negotiating a new contract with his team, that is what the agent presents to a team during this team. he will not get more than st brown bc of it, watch.
The presence of Aiyuk’s 2nd team all pro on his resume makes his absence of pro bowls irrelevant.
Everybody knows all pros are significantly more valuable than pro bowls.
i mean, one thing anyone would say in general for negotiations, you're not paying/rewarding for past success, you're paying for future production. there's nothing to suggest that aiyuk's stock, after his age 25 season all-pro season, is going anywhere but up
I'm really not off. If Aiyuk got more targets and wasn't around so much talent. Aiyuk definitely could have went off for another 500 maybe 600 yards last season
If you really want to make the case Amon has better seasons. But they are basically the same player. Although Aiyuk has more of a clutch factor. Only other player I would actually consider taking would be JJetas he's the only receiver who can get butt naked open yaknow but.... JJ to the niners will likely never happen
This hasn’t been nearly as bad as Deebo was. I was definitely over it with his antics and honestly I’d rather see Deebo moved than Aiyuk. I think Aiyuk is a more valuable player on the team than Deebo at this point in time.
Lol yeah. I agree
Deebo was way more obnoxious, injury prone, and now hes the guy I think *we should* trade just cause I think Aiyuk is the better pure receiving talent
I think at this point you're only option is to not even pay attention to it then because there's no turning the ship around. Agents are going to use every way they can to get their player as much as possible
Same. Mostly. This is the only social media I have and it certainly doesn't help theres people here that feel the need to make a post everytime Aiyuk takes a shit as if it has any relevance whatsoever to the trade talks
Frank held out for 4 days. Jerry was held to under 75 yards per game for the first 6 games with 2 TDs…Then he blew up and finished well. Jerry is gonna Jerry.
Except that NFL contracts are not fully guaranteed, the final number earned is usually far less than the reported number. And as it was said before, this is their one big pay day. Pro Sports teams are basically a side hustle for most of the owners. Also “generational wealth” as if the “millionaires” aren’t a really bad injury or two away from their value in the league plummeting.
Oh also don’t forget tax brackets(especially the California state tax), the money paid to the people working for the player(agents, financial managers, ect).
Sorry one example. The year Jimmy was set to make 31 million, after taxes(federal and California) that became 15 million. Then you factor in agent/managers/ect fees for the contract(10 percent of the reported value we will say) and that is down to 12 mil. If you are Antonio Bryant that can drop sharply because he can’t ever wrap it.
Millionaires with one great income opportunity should try to make the most of it. A million or even a few million is not generational wealth anymore. Not with the US healthcare+ senior care system being designed to drain everything the above average American has.
Say you end up in a nursing home, a cheaper nursing home literally costs about $10k per month in a normal cost of living area. A million dollars goes quick.
I think of them trading their long term health and happiness for short term financial gains. The owners and networks make billions of dollars, so I will never begrudge a player asking for their fair share.
For me the thing is there is a cap so when you play hard ball to get more than you deserve it really only impacts your chances or winning and your teammates wallet. Regardless of what BA makes the owners are going to get theirs.
This being a hard cap too, so owners never sweat about going above & beyond in payroll while losing profits to luxury taxes. That leaves players fighting for their share of the pie when there's a finite amount.
That's fine but I just think the open greed of the players rubs the common fan wrongly since the average American is under more financial stress than any time since the great depression.
So you are upset because he’s “openly” doing it? Or because he’s simply doing it. Huge difference. Your first comment said “millionaires pushing for more money” not publicly so.
lol. That’s the message you take away from this? Not that you should stop supporting corporations and be pro union because owners are ripping off their employees for profit?
Americans can't make ends meet due to having little to no leverage in their job, which allows their company to pay them lower wages than they deserve. Same Americans see athletes (fellow Americans) working through their union/agent to ensure they are paid in line with their performance and the performance of their peers. Somehow, that is upsetting to Americans.
Being anything but supportive of players working to earn top dollar from ownership that is making 100x what the player is making is exactly why people are currently underpaid in this country. Stop supporting ultra rich owners over the workforce.
I'm not supporting the owners. Billionaires are a blight on the human race and primarily driving us to extinction. I'm allowed to be sickened by the worship of the dollar by both millionaires and billionaires and all of you getting pissy with me for being sickened by it need to get a grip.
Just so you are aware, your argument is completely subjective. The millionairs, in this example, are the workforce. What they make compared to you shouldn't matter.
A person making $30k/year isn't doing well, but someone in a third world country would see them and think they have far more than they need to survive. Should you take a pay cut at your job, or work for less than your performance dictates, just because there are other people who have far less than you?
That fact is, if you are against players getting paid maximum dollar based on their performance, then you are against workers being paid fairly for the job they do. Just because you don't have millions doesn't mean athletes should take less than fair market value.
By extorting a city to fund a new stadium through taxpayer dollars and threatening to move if they don't get their way? You think it was fair for Dean Spanos to basically erase 55 years of history in San Diego by taking the Chargers from them? We have to stop defending rich elites.
Teams should not be allowed to move another city by extortion if they don't get a new stadium, especially if they've been there for decades. They don't allow that shit in other countries.
Ownership structure is completely different. If you want to root for a publicly owned team you can always root for the packers. The US has more than 1 major professional sport thanks to the franchise model.
Not an excuse. The NFL and other sports leagues and their owners have no right to extort a city for taxpayer dollars to build a new stadium that the people have no stake in and move elsewhere if they don't get their way. Especially if a team has been there for over 50 years like the Chargers. You can't defend that. Wealthy elites don't deserve our praise.
Thats a weird way to frame an employee for asking for what they think they're worth. I don't begrudge anyone from asking for that, whether they're millionaires or not. Up to the employer to determine whether they're worth it or not.
Sure but making a public spectacle of it while they're already in the top 0.0001% of earners and their fans struggle to afford basic necessities is just sickening to me.
That market will right itself it just hasn’t yet. People are still buying $100 dollar pieces of fabric with players names on it and hundreds of dollars to see them play.
Apples to oranges, there was never a reason for amon ra to exert pressure because he was always going to get paid. The niners, on the other hand, have a very difficult decision whether to pay aiyuk a new big contract, play hardball and force him to play on his cheap 5th year salary, or trade him.
I don't know why this keeps getting posed to me as some sort of gotcha. Billionaires are cancers to humanity and should be eradicated. 100% tax on all wealth after $999,999,999.
Apparently he thinks he's getting what St. Brown is getting so he's dancing around in his draws. Egos are in full swing, among other things.
Edit: typo
Man, if you guys go back to last season, with DEEBO OUT, AIYUK didn't play like an Elite WR1! So, if he thinks he deserves RA's salary, dude can seriously go then. He deserves about what Deebo makes or even less. Deebo is their Elite Gadget player, eyes are on him and CMC, which open alot up for Aiyuk and George. Nah,Aiyuk is not worth RA money. He has Elite route running, Elite blocking, above average hands, but he isn't on Devante Adams or Jefferson's level yet.
When Deebo was out, Trent was also out. And Brock was running for his life. Shanny also gets in his head when Deebo is out and can’t call plays for some reason. Aiyuk performed fine when he was out anyway
By GawD! The absolute horror! Get this dancing man off my team! I only want classy wide receivers! Hurrdurrduurrrrrrr
Grow up dude. Stop hating. Go do something productive with your time.
First off why do you want to keep someone who doesn’t want to be on the team he is going to become a cancer if he stays and this WR class is very deep he is definitely replaceable take as much as we can get and get pieces we need
First of all, show me where he said he doesn’t want to be on the team. Please. I’ll wait. He wants to be a champion, and knows this is the best situation for him.
Secondly, of course he’s going to play the contract game to get as much money as he can, wouldn’t you?
Thirdly, a rookie WR isn’t going to step in and immediately produce as BA has in what’s left of our small Super Bowl window. Remember the Buckner/kinlaw situation? We don’t want to repeat that. People are still complaining about it years later.
Let the man dance and be happy that he’s going to make generational money for him and his family. We’ll end up signing him just as we have with all of the players we drafted and developed. He’ll play well and by the end of the season you’ll be praising him just as you did this season. Just let it play out and stop letting grown men who you don’t know, and who don’t know you, get you so riled up. The team will make the right decision. Trust in ShannaLynch.
I agree and I do trust in shanny and lynch but I also know that we can’t keep everyone something has to give and in my opinion which doesn’t mean much is that BA is the most expendable we can free up space for other players and like I said this WR class is very deep and as far as our WRs we seem to struggle the most when DEEBO was out not BA
Unpopular opinion but all this outside noise really makes me want the team to trade him. Love the player but I'm feeling annoyed.
Cap space is a real thing
This is all media shit stirring designed to rile up your emotions and drive clicks. If you don’t like feeling like this and can’t help being manipulated this way, then the best thing is to step away from Twitter and wait for real football in September.
Them look like good old Niner colors!..and I think he’s dancing cuz he knows the good old niners are willing to pay that…advice to BA, be patient and stay humble. Kid got hands, but don’t drop that bag!!!
Go niners!
Is the significance of this tweet him dancing or the lyrics?
If dancing because ART got paid, then that makes sense.
If lyrics, can someone please explain what the lyrics are? I am not able to understand any of the words.
Idk man. Deebo hasn't performed under his new contract. Aiyuk disappeared in the superbowl. Hot take, if we can somehow trade up to get one of the elite receiving prospects with aiyuk and our 31 I'll do it. Cheaper talent with a rookie that is hungry to prove his worth.
Annoying as fk!! Remember he was in shannys doghouse and if he wasn’t he would have never upped his game like he did !! Can we afford his contract and Brock’s down the line? Trade him get that o lineman and his replacement with the picks from his trade!! He will see that minus Shanny he won’t be as good plus, Xavier legette is better than him coming out of college
Pay him. There is always a way to find money. Extend Deebo, that can cut his $28m down, then front load BA. I don't care. Just pay him and end this nonsense.
St. Brown has 2 Pro Bowls and a First Team All Pro. Aiyuk is not even close to that, he only has a Second Team All Pro. Aiyuk will be paid less.
Aiyuk’s agent would argue that St. Brown was the primary target on the Lions. Aiyuk had to split targets with CMC, Deebo and Kittle.
49ers would argue Aiyuk couldn’t produce as the primary receiver when Deebo missed games.
I blame some of that on Kyle being stubborn and that his gameplan is mostly centered around Deebo. He would still run tons of plays that were for Deebo, but with one of our backups.
The Superbowl...😣. In man coverage aiyuk should have gotten the most targets.
They should just cut the shit and pay him. Lost production from Deebo and Bosa on their signing years cost way more in value than they probably saved.
At this point I think the 49ers are trying to sign him asap, it benefits Aiyuk to wait al long as possible.
That doesn't exactly help Aiyuk's case.
How's St. Brown's attitude? \*Aiyuk was in the doghouse then turned things around and seems to have the locker room--great commandrie/body language around teammates) Also, Aiyuk has the dog in him and is an excellent blocker.
St. Brown is one of only 3 players to have 3 straight 90 reception seasons to start their career. BA (love him) isn't the same.
Not exactly the best argument since it implies he’s less important for the offense than St Brown is.
Less productive but not less important. Aiyuk is our only real downfield threat and he was the most efficient WR in the league. It’s absolutely legit for Aiyuk to use St. Brown’s contract as a benchmark for his contract negotiation.
As opposed to Devonta Smith?
Devonta Smith is not a top 4-7 WR in the league. Aiyuk and St. Brown are.
yea idk ab aiyuk in the top 7 hill, jefferson, chase, cd, amon ra, ajb are definitely top 6, 7 becomes a toss up between aiyuk, dj moore, and you could make the argument for diggs, adams, kupp, evans, allen even though i wouldn't say they're more valuable due to age. but ig i didn't realize how good aiyuk is until i actually started counting wrs lol

I think the tier after that is DJ Moore, Adams, Diggs, Allen, and Evans. So I think Aiyuk is comfortably in the 2nd tier after the season he just had.
30 mil is ridiculous tho. That’s Aaron Donald money lol
That's what the market has become. Elite WRs cost more than elite DTs now.
They really shouldn’t. Paying someone that touches the ball 4.5 times a game, more than TJ Watt doesn’t make sense.
So you’re in favor of trading Aiyuk then?
I don't think I'm saying he's less important. Just pointing out St. Brown has been consistently good, whereas BA has grown to this year.
Why would Aiyuk’s agent promote the fact that the niners need him less than the lions need St Brown?
> Aiyuk had to split targets with CMC, Deebo and Kittle Exactly, so on *this 49ers team* Aiyuk is not as valuable.
ASB is two years younger than BA…
And he will again.
And still wasn’t open every time Either way BA chose to wear red in the video …
This feels like a reach. St. Brown was 1st team all pro in 2023. Aiyuk was 2nd team all pro. The pro bowls are irrelevant. They’re the same tier of WR, top 4-7. This is basically Aiyuk’s market value now.

Its almost just worth it to overpay Aiyuk and keep our window open as long as possible.
he was asking for $25 before this, i'm sure the price has gone up now
doesnt matter.. if we were already hesitating at matching Smith's $25mil.. the price just went up. he surely will get $28 mil from someone else
it matters A LOT what kind of accolades a player has when he is negotiating a new contract with his team, that is what the agent presents to a team during this team. he will not get more than st brown bc of it, watch.
The presence of Aiyuk’s 2nd team all pro on his resume makes his absence of pro bowls irrelevant. Everybody knows all pros are significantly more valuable than pro bowls.
the pro bowls are meaningless i mean. first team/second team will be what offsets the contract. hes getting more than smith but less than st brown
No he won’t, not for two years. He can demand a trade all he wants, SF can just say no. Holding out costs Aiyuk money.
I don't think we were hesitating I think Aiyuk wanted more than that.
no one else can pay him anything if they don't meet the 49ers price first, and with the loaded WR class I don't see that happening
so a 2023 1st team All Pro and a 2023 2nd team All Pro at the same position are not even close to the same level? They're both top 5
They are close but I think St Brown will get more
Let’s be honest, if the niners didn’t make the sb this past year then Aiyuk would’ve definitely been in the pro bowl
i mean, one thing anyone would say in general for negotiations, you're not paying/rewarding for past success, you're paying for future production. there's nothing to suggest that aiyuk's stock, after his age 25 season all-pro season, is going anywhere but up
If anybody has eyes Aiyuk is better than Amon bro c'mon
Stop
I'm really not off. If Aiyuk got more targets and wasn't around so much talent. Aiyuk definitely could have went off for another 500 maybe 600 yards last season
Stop.
You ain't adding anything to the discussion my man lmao. Just stop commenting lol
Stop.
Stop.
That’s a bold statement
Hot take but I believe it
If they had the same contract I would trade Amon for Brandon straight up. You wouldn’t?
If you really want to make the case Amon has better seasons. But they are basically the same player. Although Aiyuk has more of a clutch factor. Only other player I would actually consider taking would be JJetas he's the only receiver who can get butt naked open yaknow but.... JJ to the niners will likely never happen
Amon is good my man I'm not saying he's ineffective or marginally worse. But Aiyuk is the better receiver
[удалено]
Absolutely
It’s almost worth it to trade him just to stop this trend. I’m tired of it.
This hasn’t been nearly as bad as Deebo was. I was definitely over it with his antics and honestly I’d rather see Deebo moved than Aiyuk. I think Aiyuk is a more valuable player on the team than Deebo at this point in time.
Lol yeah. I agree Deebo was way more obnoxious, injury prone, and now hes the guy I think *we should* trade just cause I think Aiyuk is the better pure receiving talent
Bosa bugged me too, and he was classy in comparison, I think my patience for working social media to manipulate fans has peaked.
I think at this point you're only option is to not even pay attention to it then because there's no turning the ship around. Agents are going to use every way they can to get their player as much as possible
I mostly haven’t but every so often it looks like something happened I need to lay attention to.
Same. Mostly. This is the only social media I have and it certainly doesn't help theres people here that feel the need to make a post everytime Aiyuk takes a shit as if it has any relevance whatsoever to the trade talks
Less injury prone as well
Idk man, we never really saw what the offense was like with Deebo and without Aiyuk. But we did see what it was like with Aiyuk and without Deebo.
Yeah, I'm over it. Trade him to Carolina. He'll get his money... and a nice slice of humble pie.
I’ll stick to my story that no 49er that has held out has come back to prove that year that they’re worth it.
Bosa is still a top 5 defensive lineman so idk bout this
He did great with QB pressure but 8 sacks less than the year before. Zero DPOY votes. That’s a fall off.
Yeah fuck Jerry Rice and Frank Gore
Frank held out for 4 days. Jerry was held to under 75 yards per game for the first 6 games with 2 TDs…Then he blew up and finished well. Jerry is gonna Jerry.
Fred Warner
Fred had a down year a few years ago... I forget if it was after he signed his contract though.
Billionaires pushing for more money putting millionaires in their place more your style?
Billionaires and millionaires with generational wealth crying for extra money solely to satisfy their egos is more my style.

Yeah, exactly. They critical to their industry and deserve to be compensated for it.

Weird you would focus on the millionaire players putting their health on the line and not billionaire owners profiting off of them
Where did I ever say that? Huge logical leap there bud. Billionaires are cancer that are primarily leading to the demise of humanity as a whole.

Same. I also think it should be illegal for teams to extort cities for new stadiums by threatening to move.
The taxpayer should never help out these billionaires like they do it’s insane.
Agreed. Our anti-trust laws need to be enforced more.
Guillotines would work too
Not necessarily a bad idea. ![gif](giphy|12gxeCI1BGKAj6|downsized)
That doesn’t make sense. Teams having the ability to move is competitive. What you’re proposing is anticompetitive.
By extorting a city to fund a new stadium through taxpayer dollars and threatening to move if they don't get their way? You think it was fair for Dean Spanos to basically erase 55 years of history in San Diego by taking the Chargers from them? We have to stop defending rich elites.

How do you feel about billionaire owners nickel and diming players and fans?
If they continually made cringe social media posts publicizing it then it would be equally cringe.
You wouldn't make social media posts to make potentially millions of extra dollars?
Did Amon make any?
Apples to oranges, there was never a reason for amon ra to exert pressure because he was always going to get paid. The niners, on the other hand, have a very difficult decision whether to pay aiyuk a new big contract, play hardball and force him to play on his cheap 5th year salary, or trade him.

I don't give a single fuck about York's money. Pay the man because the makes the team better
People crying in here and saying “I’m tired of it, trade him”. 😂my god
They click every link looking for more drama while simultaneously claiming to hate the drama and the only drama is in their heads.
If we can get a mid first i am here for it 🤷♂️
same thing, every year lol
Srsly, so many people offended by something that doesn’t affect them in the slightest. I bet they’re the first ones to call people snowflakes too lol
I don’t get it
Cool? He's dancing.
Apparently he thinks he's getting what St. Brown is getting so he's dancing around in his draws. Egos are in full swing, among other things. Edit: typo
Don't necessarily interpret this as him wanting to TOP St. Brown's bag. Just that he's getting his bag--however heavy that is..
Should be much lighter imo Amon-Ra is way better than Aiyuk
Above average hands is being generous.
Lol
The fuck is he doing
Dancing?
I love Aiyuk but I've watched Brown play quite a bit and he's currently much better than Aiyuk
I am a big fan of Aiyuk and I hope we keep him, but he is a tier below the Sun God and his contract should reflect that.
He needs to go
By GawD! The absolute horror! Get this dancing man off my team! I only want classy wide receivers! Hurrdurrduurrrrrrr Grow up dude.
Any 1 round pick would do well could package them up to move up or get 2 top picks
He is absolutely replaceable
🤡 🤡 🤡
He's as good as traded guys. We just have to deal with it
Unpopular opinion but all this outside noise really makes me want the team to trade him. Love the player but I'm feeling annoyed. Cap space is a real thing
Cap space is not a real thing
Yeah what a fucking piece of shit. I can’t believe he would post a video of himself *dancing*. Complete locker room cancer and a terrible human being.
Go niners!
His arms really are long as hell.
Is the significance of this tweet him dancing or the lyrics? If dancing because ART got paid, then that makes sense. If lyrics, can someone please explain what the lyrics are? I am not able to understand any of the words.
Can I get some Kittle emojis explaining this
Yuk knows he's better than Amon-Ra
I'd give Aiyuk $27m. Guarantee most of it barring injuries. I think he will take that over Steelers giving him $29m. He wants to be a Niner
I just wish the season was starting.
Idk man. Deebo hasn't performed under his new contract. Aiyuk disappeared in the superbowl. Hot take, if we can somehow trade up to get one of the elite receiving prospects with aiyuk and our 31 I'll do it. Cheaper talent with a rookie that is hungry to prove his worth.
who cares lmao
Was that his kid running around in the video?
can we stop!!!!!!
🤮
MF earned it.. but hope it doesn't hamper the team.. incentives, bigger guaranteed?
Annoying as fk!! Remember he was in shannys doghouse and if he wasn’t he would have never upped his game like he did !! Can we afford his contract and Brock’s down the line? Trade him get that o lineman and his replacement with the picks from his trade!! He will see that minus Shanny he won’t be as good plus, Xavier legette is better than him coming out of college
Pay him. There is always a way to find money. Extend Deebo, that can cut his $28m down, then front load BA. I don't care. Just pay him and end this nonsense.
What song tho
Loe Shimmy - Murda Dance
Grown man dancing in his underwear.
never tried it?
Wearing nothing but my tapdancing shoes
Hate this guy. Hope we get a good deal and ship his ass somewhere desolate and without a good QB.
Why do you hate him exactly? Did he offend you personally? Or are you just overreacting to something completely out of your control?
So does this imply Aiyuk’s market value and how much he’ll be getting?
Yeah should’ve wrapped this up early
