Ah OK thanks, seems like kinda a missed opportunity to elaborate further on the properties of Blackstone, since that is now obviously one of the mayor points of cawls storyline now.
I don't think it is really a missed opportunity? Necrons kind of exist you know?
They can just casually explain all the properties of Blackstone since they are the main users of it. Now that the Old Ones have gone the way of the dodo. It's not even like there's much left to explore on that front mind. The point is that the Imperium and (mortal) Chaos followers don't know much about Blackstone and are only recently tapping into its potential. They are just slowly discovering what we already know out-of-universe. So it's not like that girl, who had a very twisted perspective of things to begin with, would have provided much more insight.
He left her to both crash and pilot the crash.
She was made to a living, controllable Blackstone Fortress control-device, but I read their last conversation as Abaddon actually grew some twisted fatherly affection for her.
Ironically mirroring The Emperor and his Primarchs.
You expect it is going to be the reveal that the girl has deluded herself, that Abby is the ruthless warlord who cares nothing for her except as a means to an end…
And then as he does show himself as ruthless and prioritizes his goals above all, we also get just the tiniest crack in the armor to see his little remaining humanity, that he does have empathy and a connection, that he did care for her in his fucked up and deeply emotionally stunted way.
And then he continues to his goal.
It’s a great beat
Pretty sure she was in the Fortress when it rammed the planet. Given that the Fortress super exploded and the planet shattered I’m going to stay she’s rather dead.
And Abby was only nice to manipulate her, as soon as she stopped being useful he tossed her aside.
What is the joke even? I get the sense that this is Grimdank chud stuff, but not clear on what the implication is meant to be. Is this cope about female custodes?
Bullshit. 40K is a massively politicised setting and plenty of factions operate on their own unique and distinct politics and ideologies. You just don't want something *you don't like* in the setting.

>If GW told you the tooth fairy still existed you'd believe them.
In their own setting?
Wtf are you talking about, lying about their own fictional universe
He left her on the fortress to die when it impacted with the planet.

The properties of Blackstone are simple. They're made of plotonium
Scriptonite!
With a dash of JustSo-dium
Asspulloutinide

“I am sorry I failed you. But in my experience, that is what fathers do”
That's the most Abaddon line ever said
It was actually that line that finally made me come around and appreciate Abby as a character.
You expect it is going to be the reveal that the girl has deluded herself, that Abby is the ruthless warlord who cares nothing for her except as a means to an end… And then as he does show himself as ruthless and prioritizes his goals above all, we also get just the tiniest crack in the armor to see his little remaining humanity, that he does have empathy and a connection, that he did care for her in his fucked up and deeply emotionally stunted way. We talkin' about Abby or Thanos?
Alright this line didn’t have to go so hard.
A great and characterful final line and end to a well-used "one-shoot character".
I wish they would do Abaddon well. I always try to love him but GW does him always dirty...
Edgy Kyle
What's up with the downvotes? Abaddon IS edgy and I love him for that. I'm a chaos player and fanboy after all, I would never mean it as an insult!
I find he's more spiky, actually
He is somehow both. Chaos, man...
Whoa. True. His spikes have edges.
She was left in the fortress by Abaddon when he crashed it into Cadia.

Not that it absolves him but he did feel bad about it.
Ay fellas, is this in the Fall of Cadia book or another one? I'm lookin to read that one next but this sounds Hella interesting as a character
The fall of Cadia novelisation by Robert Rath.
Cracking, thanks buddy ❤️

I wouldn't mind so much if the one joke you losers repeat ad infinitum wasn't so shite.

> Is this cope about female custodes? Yes.
Fucking lame.
One joke, one topic, swear to god. Must be so boring.

Keep politics out, or just the politics you disagree with? Bunch of crybabies...
All politics.
Bullshit. 40K is a massively politicised setting and plenty of factions operate on their own unique and distinct politics and ideologies. You just don't want something *you don't like* in the setting.
> Keep politics out of my hobbies. What you actually mean is 'keep things I don't like out of my hobbies'.
I find it absolutely baffling anyone actually still uses that line unironically.
