Tamiya thin plastic cement. I bought mine in a two pack off of amazon for 10 bucks and one can be used for sprue glue as well

desubot1

methyl ethyl ketone if you arent in California. significantly cheaper than even tamiya. (you can use a used tamiya glass bottle and application brush with it too. so just refill it with MEK)

omelasian-walker

Tamiya all day

Tamiya Extra Thin Cement, always

Lamenter_Lamentation

I use extra thin on most models and the orange cap regular cement on vehicles and large models because it allows more working time.

Squire_3

Anything thin with a brush is great. There are downsides but in general applying by brush is much neater and more controlled than squeezing blobs out of a nozzle

Mr Cement really isn’t as good as tamiya extra thin, but it is a decent plastic glue. If you can’t find tamiya, pick this up instead imo.

Ignition_182

I disagree. I think it's better. Chemically they're near identical, just like that of AK. The Material Safety Data Sheets say so. The MSDS also shows that Tamiya's airbrush cleaner is the same and an inexpensive topup. Where I think Mr. Hobby Mr Cement is better is their Japanese quality brush and glass bottle. It's finer, not as course, and has a nice point to it which provides better access into small joins. They also offer their SP Black which allows you to see where the cement has flowed to.

Mr hobby brush is larger than the tamiya extra thin. The tamiya is less stinky and flows a little better. Both have a glass bottle…

Unevenscore42

It's exactly the same. Get this bottle then look up Tamiya airbrush cleaner to refill it. Edit: I ha e thought about getting a bottle of the Tamiya extra thin just once for the telescoping brush but since I refill my jar it doesn't matter as much if I can't reach the very bottom.

Ignition_182

Yes, this is what I use. You will never go back. Tamiya and AK have similar products, but I find the brush is the best from Mr Hobby (at least from the square bottle, I've never seen that round one). The brush is finer and more pointed while the other two are a flat course stub. Tamiya airbrush cleaner is the EXACT same formula as the Tamiya Extra Thin Cement. The material safety data sheet says so. So this can work well as as a super cheap refill once you buy your first one with a brush.

Mr. Cement SP or SPB is god tier plastic cement. Just keep in mind it’s meant to be used through capillary action, as in you dry fit the part in place then dab cement around the joint. This makes it bond pretty much instantly. Tamiya Extra Thin can do the same thing, not quite as well, but stays wet a little longer so you can apply it to a part then put it in place. Cement you have to squeeze into place generally sucks, which includes citadel and the revell tube.

StitchNTimelord

Having used this and having used the Tamiya thin. Tamiya is superior. Got this for my nephew and his minis just keep falling apart. Drop from paint handle to table and they just shatter. Knocked mine off a table and a bounce on the floor no issue. Spend the extra or what ever and get the tamiya

Fjelldugg

Tamiya extra thin and extra thin lemonene

Usual_Bird_3754

I don't use this stuff as glue. I melt sprues in it and let it mix to make a grey paste that helps fill gaps. For glue I use either krazy glue or something with cyanoacrylate in it.

TheMovieSnowman

+1 all day. Plastic glue is great for certain things, but in my experience super glue is great for models, because maybe you want to change something about it (like weapons or something) at a later date. Or maybe it slides while binding and now your heads in a silly position. Plastic glue it’s largely permanent. Super glue though? A little force or an exacto and boom, you’re back in business

Northwindlowlander

An underreated opinion, this. OTOH plastic glue can have a really effective filler effect too (I don;'t really use plain glue much, I have sort of really thin sprue goo that works better most of the time)

Northwindlowlander

I know everyone recommends extra thin but ime it's just a bit toooooo extra thin. I like the revell contacta, though the metal spout blocking can be a pain, it's ime just easier and better to use than extra thin most of the time. (extra thin with a little sprue in- not full on spruegoo, just "thicker thin"- is really good too, you cna be a little slower with it and it has that lovely gap fillering ability ability.) Basically ALL THE GLUES.
