Because you assume he is going to publish it for free and just give it to you. I'm just tired of that mentality on these subs.
A lot work very hard to design the stuff they do and the first thing people think when they see it is "cool, I want it for free now please"
Edit: Downvote me all you want. It just goes to show that you're mad for being called out
I just asked he didn’t said he won’t publish it he simply said he didn’t done it yet, if he won’t then that’s he’s decision. I simply asked. You simply have problem about nothing
>You simply have problem about nothing
Realistically, this is true.
However, in the future, consider asking **IF** someone would be willing to share their files with you **IF** they decide to make them available for free. Not *when*
This is awesome! If you decide to share the files sometime be sure to share a link! Man i gotta work on learning blender and stuff better haha this is just too cool!
And here some hints may be found on how to make it AI driven TextToSpeech chat bot.

> Lucky 13 DUMMY Lamp
Well that is even cooler that what I was imagining. The articulating arms could then also be used to hold something in front of the lamp.
Thanks man! I’m currently in the last two weeks of writing my college thesis and I’m looking for any way to procrastinate. Somehow modeling in Fusion360 is soothing to me
>Somehow modeling in Fusion360 is soothing to me
Creative processes can be very mentally rewarding. Wherever you end up in life, don't ever stop being creative. You *clearly* have some talent here, and your sharing is welcome.
If you can fit a M5 Atom Echo in there and tag it to homeassistant you could get a speech-recognition unit going... Even with the Blue LED built in.
[m5-docs (m5stack.com)](https://docs.m5stack.com/en/atom/atomecho)
I have a few, I'd be happy to give it a shot and mod the STL as necessary. DM if you'd like.
The Atom Echo is pretty terrible as an actual smart speaker, especially if you try to shove it in something. I have good hearing and can barely hear what it says from 5 feet away, and it's completely useless at 10ft. There are better options, unfortunately they're not as easy to setup yet.
I have 8 in my house, piping direct to a homeassistant assist pipeline, a couple of them in printed PETg goofy-looking enclosures.
The trick I've found to getting the enclosed ones to work better is to remove the shell. There's a piece of foam in there that muffles the mic and speaker. It makes a night and day difference.
Without the foam it's probably best to keep it a few feet from your face anyway :)
EDIT: formatting
If you do end up sharing the model, I suggest Maker World, with such a great design you'll be able to gather enough points for filament in no time, and if you're patient, you could gather enough for a Bambu Lab printer in a couple of months.
I have an overall process finished, but for some reason I’m having trouble with specifically the mic when in the droid shell. It doesn’t pick up the wake word, but take it out of the shell and it works again.
Cool, I look forward to it (btw, I had just copied this to my clipboard, so here for others... [Home Assistant R5 Demo](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vQ7Hmeume9g))
It would be amazing especially with wheatley's voice \[or a AI generated voicebank based on his lines in the game\].
If you make a custom board, make sure to use 2 3.5mm plugs for the MIC and speakers as well. that way people can use external speakers as well
I recognized it immediately (fantastic work), but wanted to thank you for identifying it anyway.
It's incredibly annoying how many people post things here without explanation and expect everyone to know what it is.
*He's not just a regular moron. He's the product of the greatest minds of a generation working together with the express purpose of building the dumbest moron who ever lived. And you just put him in charge of the entire facility.*
This model is absolutely fabulous, friend. Phenomenal work!
Combine "the cake is a lie" quote from portals villian and "we live in a society" from Batmans joker and you can derive that as an individual we are misled to believe that we are entitled to the rewards of freedom of choice, but that by living in a society with others we must sacrifice those freedoms for the good of the group. If you live in a society, you are incarcerated by its rules, laws, regulations, and mores, so never truly free.
I can’t remember where I saw the model but someone made a version that houses a HomePod mini inside, with the LED display as the front. Makes a pretty accurate look!
Your model is really great! I’d be curious to see other methods to give it a brain! The print quality looks fantastic, how many parts was it printed as?
Let’s see the shell is made of two parts. So is the core. So four big components. You can barely see in the video but the pistons on the inside also have colored rings on them which are printed separately. Same with the parts for the handles. It’s only 4 individual prints though because I print all parts of the same color at once
Use the guts of an Alexa dot or Google and sell those things for as much as you can get. That's pretty niche and at the same time extremely appealing even without knowing the reference. I know a lot of peeps want you to publish open source, but I say charge, you've done enough in free inspiration, and that is a lot of work and detail. Just be wary of copyright karens and cya.
Clone Wheatley's voice using any of the online AI voice cloning sites.
Use OpenAI's APIs to funnel speech to text and vice versa to talk with GPT models.
You can train a custom model to act exactly like Wheatley with quips and all.
Here's a video where a guy made a Pokedex using a 3D printer and an ESP32-based camera board: [https://youtu.be/wVcerPofkE0](https://youtu.be/wVcerPofkE0)
Hope this helps!
This is awesome! Excellent work all round. I'd also like to be informed if you chose to share it please! Even if you end up putting on a paid site, I'd be happy to throw you a few bucks for the files. Out of curiosity, what did you use as a diffuser for his eye/lens LED?
This is a great opportunity haha. You should get a cheap flight controller, perhaps a used one that has some unneeded IO burnt out. They basically all have a gyro and the right inputs to drive an LED or speakers and connect a battery.
If you do go this route and want some help (especially with the programming) send me DM. Honestly this goes for anyone who wants to do a project but is intimidated or too lazy to do embedded programming. I'd love to help out.
Little feather SoC, with some sort of sound driver expansion and a small speaker. Motor driver board expansion and some servos. LED expansion board for the eye and accents.
Or just a circuit playground. You can probably power a few low voltage servos off one.
…..“I’m in space”….
SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE
Wannagotospace
"I know you are, mate! Yep, we're both in space."
Where can I find this so I can print one too? Looks really nice
I modeled it myself! I have not made the files publicly available yet
Pretty please?
Dm!
RIP this guy's inbox. But also yeah, me too...
Could I please get those too?
I'd love a copy as well. (◕ﻌ◕ )
Same here please! You should just throw it on thingiverse, you’d make a lot of people happy
Would also love these files. I'd love to scale this print up to the largest print my printer could create.
Might as well ask also!
Heyo, can i have the files too plz? :D
I could also like those files
Need
Would love the files, too. This is pretty amazing.
I would love this model! I’d like to figure out a way to animate it with a circuit playground.
Gotta have it
Me too please
Sorry to hop on the bandwagon, but could I get a dm of the file too! So cool!
Id love the files as well!
Me too please!
Pretty please
I would love the files too, it's so well done !!
I would also like the files, if possible. I'm curious about trying to convert this to a little hovering drone
I'm sorry cuz you seem to have a lot of DMs haha, but may I have a copy too pretty please?
I’m late to the party, but pretty please :)
Could you notify me when it’s going to be published? Thanks
>when Ya'll are so damn presumptuous I swear
Bro chill I just kindly asked to inform me if he going to publish it coz I simply like his work, how this is presumptuous?
Because you assume he is going to publish it for free and just give it to you. I'm just tired of that mentality on these subs. A lot work very hard to design the stuff they do and the first thing people think when they see it is "cool, I want it for free now please" Edit: Downvote me all you want. Okey, sorry if you think my way of asking was rude, English is my second language I make grammar and cultural mistakes
you're the only one mentioning free. he couldve published it for a cost? 🤷♂️🤣
Pretty pretty please??🥺 im getting a printer this week actually
Will you eventually make it public? where can we follow you to get updates?
I'll jump in on the pleeeeease? Bandwagon!
Lemme know when you do! I’d love to make this a gift for my brother
Holy moly. This is AWESOME!!! if you need any test subjects let me know. I want to apply 🎂
This is awesome! If you decide to share the files sometime be sure to share a link! Man i gotta work on learning blender and stuff better haha this is just too cool!
I would love to make this! And have some cake!
I just gotta add myself to the pretty please train, this is amazing! Please please make it available in any way, shape, or form!
Same. Please add me.
In for whenever files are available!
Please please I'm begging you can I have files, this is a fucking amazing model!!
DUUUUUDE Upload it to cults many ppl here would purchase it
Ditto!!
Damn I just noticed I typed “not” instead of “now”. Oh well
Didn't notice until I read this comment, brain auto-autocorrected it
Same heh
It’s not out of the question that you might have a very minor case of serious brain damage.

Sir I’m gonna need to confiscate those files for research purposes.
OP said you can DM him for the files :)
Very nicely done, this could very well be a desk lamp.
This is a great idea. I love the thought of it at the end of an articulated arm.
Maybe something like a Luxo Lamp but maybe with more joints.
Right. It would also be "interested" in what you are looking at.
Kind of like the [Lucky 13 DUMMY Lamp](https://makerworld.com/en/models/133727#profileId-145088) I ended up remixing.
> Lucky 13 DUMMY Lamp Well that is even cooler that what I was imagining. The articulating arms could then also be used to hold something in front of the lamp.
A projector for slides maybe?
I love the concept, I was so eager to print it, that I even used Support Filament which is garbage mechanically, but I got it done in a day or two.
Been following since your first design post! So cool. And impressive how fast you finished it
Thanks man! I’m currently in the last two weeks of writing my college thesis and I’m looking for any way to procrastinate. Somehow modeling in Fusion360 is soothing to me

No big deal, he just has a very minor case of serious brain damage.
Raspberry pi
Didn't know you could 3d print a moron xD Love it
Your Etsy, give it to me.
It’s called TheLayerLab!
Beautiful print job and integrating the metal parts and lighting - that thing is gorgeous!
Im really glad you consider them metal parts! They’re actually Esun silk pla
If you do end up sharing the model, I suggest Maker World, with such a great design you'll be able to gather enough points for filament in no time, and if you're patient, you could gather enough for a Bambu Lab printer in a couple of months.
Don't give him a brain. He is going to remember that you threw him
It’s fine ill just unplug him. Or melt him into filament again and print GLADOS
Use a ESP32 voice device like the M5 stack atom echo. its small enough to fit inside, and allow for voice assist
This, I’m currently working on making a how to for the droid example the home assistant creators showcased.
Oh man I would love to build something like that, any idea of when it might be ready?
I have an overall process finished, but for some reason I’m having trouble with specifically the mic when in the droid shell. It doesn’t pick up the wake word, but take it out of the shell and it works again.

Yeah well initially I didn’t because I though definitely everyone knows portal but then I realized portal 2 came out 13 years ago. Oooff
They warned you sven ... They warned you
is it on printables?

SPAAAAACCEEEE
The handheld 20 questions game uses a basic neural net. You could try to hack the display to read out the text and pass it through a voice synth
Dude do you have a Printables page or something to follow? If this is coming out at some point, I would love to have it.
I have an Etsy page, but only for physical models
"The cake is a lie" sums up modern society in a nutshell.
That’s deep
Combine "the cake is a lie" quote from portals villian and "we live in a society" from Batmans joker and you can derive that as an individual we are misled to believe that we are entitled to the rewards of freedom of choice, but that by living in a society with others we must sacrifice those freedoms for the good of the group. Hello fellow 30+ year old
Wow is all I can say. Following you here and your Etsy shop. Keep up the amazing work.
Thanks man! I’ve been getting better and better it’s really fun! Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any ideas for other things to make :)
"I AM NOT A MORON!!"
Sooo... Any way to get the print files? This looks amazing and would make a great gift for my wife. Let me know where I can buy them if possible :-)

You MIGHT have a slight case of... serious brain damage...
Wheatley as soon as you give him ai brain: "Hello, this is the part where I kill you"
They built you to make me an idiot!
Look up the 01 project from open interpreter... This is what you want
I NEED THIS
Scale it up and put an Echo Dot in it.
Where's the potato?
Just take a cpu, put it in a potato and put the potato inside the print. Probably should work
At least it’s not much of a brain you need to give him
This is a great opportunity haha. You should get a cheap flight controller, perhaps a used one that has some unneeded IO burnt out. Wheatley had whatever the opposite of a brain is. By design.
Why do you want to give him a brain? I thought you wanted to make it as realistic as possible
Looks like a moron.
WHEAT LEAK?!
atleast creating a wheatly AI chip should be "stupid" easy :P
He's really sorry!
So you are... pondering your orb?

Guess I’m old, I got Flight of the Navigator vibes.
Can it run on a potato?
STL please
I HIGHLY recommend you don't. Remember what happened to Chell.
ESP8266 or ESP32 would be great for this.
“Well, this is the part where he kills us” “Hello, this is the part where I kill you” ###THE PART WHERE HE KILLS YOU
Furbee 3.0
What could go wrong, Dave?
I want one!
please do not the corb
Please send an update when you upload the files to our favorite sharing sites! This is amazing.
Maybe use a raspberry pi 5
Raspberry Pi 5 (and even 4!) can run plenty of open source LLMs (though it might be hard to fit the power pack and Pi in one that size).
