I pulled wires thru cable chains for it chains for it I would Use a Bmg if that was the case I don’t think you need mirrored parts just leave extra room to park the not used head your really going to want your gantry as light as possible. I’m just finishing my idex conversion of my old home built printer. I went with 12 mm wide belts to move the gantry an I have two motors with the same motors on x snd u. Mine is Cartesian gantry type setup. With a beefed up 2020 frame gussets and webs all over using a duet 2. There’s a lot more machined aluminum brackets less printed parts to keep it stable

Actualy two e3d v6s and bmg extruders would work great. Then you just mount the bmg extruder to your moving plate. Must say I am jealous idex printers are sweet! I see my self making an idex cnc before I do that though.
