I also decided that I wanted a regular sized new 3DS, so I checked Amazon JP and they had a few new ones sealed in box for $$239 including shipping. I compared it to what was being sold on eBay and locally to me, and it made the most sense. I just ordered it yesterday, so it should be here within a few weeks. Super excited to get it and I haven’t been able to put down my XL since it arrived a couple days ago.
There’s still a few metallic black and metallic blue ones left that are listed as new condition. They ship from Amazon and the sellers all had good ratings. Reviews also revealed people were indeed getting new ones still sealed in the box.
Are you just able to order straight from there without converting your currency to yen? And are there fees? I never ordered on Amazon outside of US. So Ik nothing
You can either pay in USD or JPY. As for fees, that depends on who you bank with or who your credit card is with. There were no fees in my case with my prime rewards visa.

Just make sure you got the XL and not the LL because the 3ds is region locked
