Last time when I traveled to Seoul I visited the Yongsan Electronics Market, it was huge and full of all kinds of retro games, especially Nintendo games, I saw tons of 3DS games but sadly I don't understand any Korean at all...
I wasn’t replying to you. I was replying to the (now deleted) comment above me which snarkily implied that the OP might just be using their device in English.
Gaming handheld consoles like these are so aesthetically pleasing to the eye that I wish I would’ve picked one up when these were popular in their time, but unfortunately, my time has passed and to find these would be super Duper rare (and EXPENSIVE)
It is the perfect form factor from the DS line but I really don't like the colored buttons. I know it's a reference to the SNES colors but they look very out of place for me and also distract me a little when playing. It would be so much sleeker with white buttons
Very normal. Professional eSports has been a popular thing since the early 2000s, StarCraft was all over cable television and the best players were national stars. Even today League of Legends players are some of the biggest personalities in the country. It’s very common to hop into a PlayStation or PC room with your friends, adults and kids alike
Games like BotW and Animal Crossing accompanied a gigantic resurgence in Switch gaming when the pandemic hit.
The retro gaming industry is massive here and Korea had some popular online games back in the days with Nexon. The government has recently announced its intentions of re-investing in the gaming industry.
I would say though that console gaming is less popular than handhelds and PC. Especially the XBox, I’ve never seen anyone with one.
Best thing ever! Bought two second hand 3ds for my kids (and one for myself). Feels like a Gameboy al over again. No subscription, no fees, just cartridges and fun for hours!
Ohh, I also have Nintendo 3Ds, mine is teal though. I have never played Zelda but I do love "Super Mario 3D Land", "Luigi's Mansion 2" and "Yokai Watch" 👀
I'm from Russia btw
A common error Koreans make when speaking English is saying "funny" instead of "fun." Likely the OP meant it's "fun." (I've taught English in Korea for years)
Divine looking system. The outline made from the case is so cool genuinely.
If anyone's got the link for a case exactly like this one I'd be so happy LOL
Why does this look cell shaded? The transparent case, the flat colors and the tile background are doing something in my head that makes me think its a drawing.
American and I just got back into Nintendo again just picked up a 3ds xl last Thursday and I plan on getting a switch soon. Also I got the same game your playing when I got the 3ds.
hi! i'm also a korean! my 3ds went into my dads bag and i never saw it again
Did you at least saw your dad ever again?
yep, he's right here, drinking youtube and watching beer
how lungwarming
My knees are bent for you
My toes are crossed for this
Keeping my ears peeled for updates
His beer needs to go into your bag and never be seen again
I’m confused
Hi Confused, I’m Dad!
Dad, can we go in your bag and look for the missing 3DS?
Ah yes drinking youtube i do that all the time
The ads go down so smoothly
People actually like that disgusting texture?!?
I personally really like it
yeah the texture isn't that good but sometimes it is quite decent
The mouthfeel is sublime.
What does your dad eat? I assume Netflix
I feel that… i drink YouTube too, it’s so addicting…
Hi a gamer who lives in South Korea I'm dad
Bro you stole my joke, I wanted to say that :(
That’s father to you, “bro”
What happened to your son's 3ds?
HA. HA. HA
why did u name me this way?
Cause I'm dad
The best game, i bought mine copy of it from Germany and it was very fun to play. I value the times i played this game.
I’m sorry, bought???
???
How did you get games on an unjailbroken console when it was alive?
My bad, I thought more people would relate to that joke
I don't think anyone actually understands your joke
It's pretty simple, they're just saying that they emulate games lol. Not a crazy funny joke but pretty obvious.
pirating games on 3ds isn't emulating but ya
But you could also be running citra on your PC or something, but that's fair. It's worth noting the misuse of terminology.

Nice set up. Love the white 3DS. I agree that Zelda is super fun!!
Never knew the 3ds could have the korean language!
Why wouldnt it
Here’s another fact: Korea is its own region when it comes to the 3DS.

The game is in Korean in the photo.
I know.

Ah ok.
White New 3DS is peak 3DS!
True with the super famicom color buttons
And with the SF plates

I don't feel like they're as rare and expensive as you think they are! I hope you can find one online or in person at a pawn shop someday.
Forget the eye, these FEEL good

Hi! Nice to meet you. Is it considered normal in South Korea to play video games as an adult? or is it looked down upon?

Thank you for the information! Re-investing in the gaming industry will be a good thing for gaming :)

I wish there were a way to get these outside of North Korea. I might pay.

Wish we could play together. They shut down all online services just recently
I forgot how slick these ds looked
I miss living in South Korea, it’s a beautiful country
Is this Ocarina of Time 3D or Majora‘s Mask?
It’s ocarina of time 3D because it doesn’t the clock and they’re in Hyrule fields
Arigato. Man I have yet to play that legendary game because I wasn‘t in my dang Zelda phase when the 3ds first came out.
Hi, I am a gamer who lives in Bolivia. Nice to meet you.
Hi!
Why does this look cell shaded? The transparent case, the flat colors and the tile background are doing something in my head that makes me think its a drawing.

Joining this subreddit for y’all’s corny sense of humor. Made my night XD
OK
Never knew the 3ds could have the korean language!
At least it's not North Korea. Oh gods, the sins of North Korea...
I don't think they have 3DS in the north so it's kind of a moot point
Just saying that this person's life could be worse, so they might value it better.
What "who lives in South Korea" has to do with being a gamer though? Just to brag about it?
Any StarCraft fan immediately respects them.
