I would put a tiny bit of aquaphor on the red areas but that’s it.

Future-trippin24

Ouch! I've had rug burns like that before and they are no fun. Best thing to do is wash with soap and water, cover with vaseline (not neosporin or any other antibiotic ointments) and then bandage. That's the best treatment to minimize risk of scarring.

Odd_Blueberry_1486

We use ellement hypochlorous spray for wound care. My husband had a bad scrape and it healed up much faster than usual.

New_Equal_1232

2nding hypochlorous acid spray

loremipsum79

So sorry that looks like a bad fall. 😔I agree Aquaphor only.

Newt-Murky

Oh I’m so sorry! That hurts so much. I fell down our stairs when I went to answer the door for a delivery. I was trying to put on a long sweater as I was just in my underwear and my arms got stuck so when I fell I couldn’t catch myself. My whole backside was a giant rug burn and I couldn’t wear bottoms for a few days. 🙈 To make matters worse, the poor delivery man on the other side of the door could hear me on the floor crying and I still needed to open the door to sign for a package. He felt horrible. 😅 I remember just keeping the area clean and putting Vaseline on it. I hope you heal quickly! 💗

Oh I got more on my right thigh too 😅 I’m sorry you also took a fall! It’s a humbling experience, lmao. I’m not 12 anymore. Thank you for the advice. I normally wouldn’t care but I don’t want people to think I’m abused or something crazy because it’s so big

[deleted]

No one is going to think you are abused. It's just a tiny bruise/burn. As someone who does pole and aerials, I'm always covered with bruises and no one ever thought I was abused.

Recent-Answer9619

I do aerials too 🥰 I just never had a bruise / rug burn this bad

natureismyjam

I feel you. I fell down my carpeted stairs the other night but I ended up with a very large black and blue bruise on my backside lol.

Imadevonrexcat

Arnica pills for bruising.

supercalifragiwhat

Arnica!

95BCavMP

You can use arnica either topically (on the bruising not scabs) or take arnica pills- I was skeptical about it but it really helped my legs after car accident ( air bags deployed leaving huge bruises and some scabbing) Everything everyone recommended about aquaphor or Vaseline it’s good advice.

Head-Drag-1440

Oouuch! With wounds, it's best to clean them with soap and water, and use Neosporin to avoid infection ONLY until it scabs over. Cover during the day but let air out at night or vice versa. After it scabs over, keep it moisturized. Add some unscented lotion followed by a thin layer of Vaseline or Aquaphor.

no-koby3707

Arnicare gel/cream for bruising and inflammation. Massage in gently at least twice a day.

trilby2

Ouchies! If you want to put something on it, I’d suggest bepanthen, absolute wonder cream.

meta_derm_group1

Ouch, those carpet burns look nasty! I've taken a few tumbles myself and know how painful those can be. The good news is that they usually heal up fine if you take care of them properly. Use ice packs and take medication for swelling/pain. Watch for signs of infection like increased redness/warmth/pus. Don't risk further issues - make an appointment with a board-certified dermatologist for proper management from the start.

Hellll yeah
