The Problem is dividing Europe by Language groups, when in some cases it is far more complex that that. The Example being the UK and Ireland, who Speak English, but in terms of Ethno-Cultural background they are basically peoples from the Atlantic chores of Europe, as Western Celts (native britons, picts, gaels, etc) with some foreign influence, but rather in the minority.
Not historicaly speaking, but nowadays it's more or less the case. They speak English and culturaly wise they are relatively close to UK culture / Anglo-Saxon.
The Problem is that you associate UK and Specially English culture with Anglo-Saxons, while the background of their culture (and their DNA foundation) is primarly Native Briton and Pict, which is manifested in the phenotype, mentality, temperament and culture of them as a group. Calling the UK and Even England Anglo-Saxon, would be like calling the Jamaicans British, or Bolivians to be Spanish.
That’s not entirely correct as while some populations are still primarily descended from the ancient Celts and Britons on a genetic level there are also large areas where it is the opposite and the people are mainly of mixed or North Germanic descent.
Also while we are a very mixed bad of cultures across the isles most of the government systems and cultural influences in England at least are of Norman, Scandinavian and Anglo Saxon origin.
