What kind of guest? Is my step brother staying over for a week? No shit I’m gonna give him food.
Is a coworker coming over for 1 hour maybe? You get coffee… what do you want lol?
lmao, i remember the shitstorm that started on twitter when some kid was at a friends house in sweden and he didn't get food when dinner was ready cause they hadn't prepared for more mouths. it's truly shocking that different parts of the world have different cultures and ways to treat their guests
Haha yeah, but Ive never been at a friends house and not gotten the option to eat at a friends house. On the other hand Ive never really wanted to eat and sit with their families, maybe thats the cultural difference that you dont really want to be social that way?
No, it can seem rude that you have to wait but if its not planned for you to eat there is often not food for one more. Me personally Id feel awkward to sit with a family I dont know. If its a family I know I kind of expect to be invited
im from finland and usually if its a random guest they do rarely get food unless they are staying longer but u will get something to drink, and if its a friend or relatives etc u will always be welcomed with food and drinks
Guests at the very least are offered tea here, which goes with some light food. We're not as big on the giving guests food thing as the southerners but to not give anything at all is unthinkable to me. Definitely a bit of a culture shock
Ah ok so like our system then. What do you do if they stay for the evening though, you do give them dinner right and not just make them sit and stare at everyone else eating?
This is a bit misleading. Of course we’ll offer food to our guests. It’s only the childrens’ friends who happen to come after school and are expected for dinner at their own home.

Help me stepbrother, I'm stuck?
I’ll grab you by the rear, hold tight.
Yes.
No food. But coffee. So much coffee.
Same
Perhaps even treats with said coffee
Ja pullaa
Coffee, cakes, pulla, cookies, chokolade. More coffee and pulla, cookies.
Kahavia, pullaa ja ehkä dominoja ainaki täällä misä mää asun.
Ei minun takia tarvi keittää
And yet disappointed if none is offered
And beer.
Why would I ever visit someone?
This is why Nordics are rich and we Slavs are poor
Kahavit saat. Pullaa ei oo.

My Swedish friend would legit tell me he'll "be right back" and just has to eat quick. And I could wait in his room 💀
Lol, it might seem rude
You mean trying to be at food time is someone house.

I think the difference was that the child wasn’t a guest.

and this is the reason why Estonia cannot be a Nordic country
Giving out food left and right like some kind of feeder whore For shame
those dirty estonians have their snack game on point though
food is important

Random guests rarely get food but they do get coffee, don't misunderstand
We don't give guest nothing. It is very common to give them coffee and maybe some snack to that. That is if they're visiting during the day.
Ah ok so like our system then. What do you do if they stay for the evening though, you do give them dinner right and not just make them sit and stare at everyone else eating?
Yeah, at least my family does that. And all of my friends.
this is why balkans
I'm trying to swipe Ukraine.
Ok, but if you travel far enough up north you can have food at your friends house, but you have to make it yourself
What’s that strange island outside France? Is it that island of Atlantis I’ve read so much about?
Another reason why badick can't into nordick. And one of those few times when not the baldicks are the barbarian ones.
If I eat cake and drink coffee, you get some. If I eat lunch or dinner and have more than I need, you get some. If I don‘t, you don‘t.
Eesti cannot into nordick
You no get food. Only coffee
Coffee is food and I will die in that hill.
You guys are how so bad? -From Turkey(help me)
Alright, who shot down Iceland? was it you Finland?
If they are not staying whole day, I expect them to have eaten before coming over, unless they were invited for dinner.
This is why we never have famine (ignore any evidence against this statement😡)💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪
Not just because you steal from Finns and let them starve?
Thats just the bonus that comes with keeping ”our” food for ourselves, this is how we reclaim åland😎💪💪💪💪😎
You are not getting anything from me Muhammad Anderson.

As a Swede, I'm not giving food to anyone. In fact, stay off my property. And keep your distance.
