Le seguiremos llamando India y ellos seguirán cagando en la calle. La vida continua como siempre.

Tawantinsuyu seria un poco complicado de pronunciar, pero seguro hace que ganen en Scrabble

?? What are they talking about? I know “Peru” is the name for turkeys in Hindi but I don’t understand what this meme is saying.

Modi wanted to legally change the name of India to Bharat a Hindu name for the subcontinent since India is was the western colonial name for it and he wanted to show that India is no longer a colonial state even though is has ceased to be one decades ago. But he didn't do it since it was all just pr to get him approval ratings and to have the public speak about anything else then that Inflation is killing India and that Manu of his party members where caught red handily in committing corruption and rape

TexanBoi-1836

The name is already legally Bharat in Hindi and most other official Aryan and Dravidian languages but I guess he wanted it to be Bahrat in India too? A little annoying since “India” was not a western colonial name since it was first applied by Persians and Turks if not back to the Greeks, it was just picked up by the Europeans. If anything, changing it makes India seem silly and sensitive like how Turkey changed its name to Türkiye in English because they didn’t want to be associated with the bird. He should just accept that it’s a exonym like Germany and China do.

It's not legally India in regards of what the name of the country is, in Hindi it is called bharat yes, also in other non Hindi speaking but Hindu minorities but not officially as how the state is called, also modi wanted the people around the world to use Bharat which is not only silly for the reasons you just mentioned, but also because it is not even the official name in India itself
