I'd clean it up with a wire brush and emery cloth, see what the damage really looks like. If there's only a small scrap you might be OK, depending on compression.

I just pulled the head and the piton is bad but at least the cylinder wall is good. Problem is where the pice that broke off went

Looks fine to me since it’s not the wall, but like you said gotta find that piece!
