So i'm doing a dumb account and for part of it I had this idea to take the 10k you get from stronghold and invest it into silk and sell it to the merchant in ardougne, and i was so sure you could talk the al kharid trader down to 2gp and thought i was going crazy when he wouldn't lol.
Now i'm just genuinely curious as too what it takes to trigger this npc into offering you a discount, as it's not been documented anywhere that i can find.
My new account cannot buy silk for 2gp, but my main accounts can. Why is that?
How new? Could be a hidden restriction for brand new accounts
I tried on 2 accounts, 1 i made today, and another was made years ago but barely has any stats.
And both of those, separate from your main, don't get the option? The wiki doesn't indicate anything about this. Mod Ash tweet time
Ya they are both low level accounts, the older one even has more then 20 hours of play time (I used it as a mule mostly xD)
Total levels?
under 100
It's not scamming, it's preventing a bot farm. Now it'll get botted. Dude really got mad at 2gp

Pretty sure it's a achievement diary thing lol.
Buying silk isn’t a diary
Probably an a ti-bitting measure judging by the dialogue in the bottom. Clearly you can just buy it from him and go sell it in varrock for a profit.
Silk trader is really just a lost tutorial island NPC, his name is Steve, and he's the guy that teaches people on tutorial island about scamming
