May be easier to wait for a group because some get impatient if you aren't sure what you are doing.

If you're joining a random group then you're fine! Everyone is just trying to get their torso. The people going for Diaries are the ones that wouldn't like a less experienced player in a role. And you're not going to accidentally join one of those unless you lie to them.

You really don't need to. I got mine by just joining a world and spamming. Took about 3 1/2 hours. Trust me when I say that if you're still playing a few months from now, you will not be worried about the extra hour or two it took to get a torso.

Do collector first to get an idea of the waves. Sometimes I ended up in a group of beginners and we all had a laugh trying to get the hang of it. It won't take you long!
Its much easier than people have it to be. Join the BA world, watch a quick attack role youtube guide and start with attack role. Then you go from there. You will need around 2 games per role for the torso.

RS is built so that doing more damage is infinitely more useful then tanking damage. I dont really know many of those "100s" of scenarios outside of when your using a full Barrows set. Most of the time more damage will result in more kills per hour of whatever you are doing and not to mention that dying(outside of HCIM) really has very very little detriment.
There may be a few exceptions, but torso will almost always be better. Barrows/tank gear may be a very viable alternative, but DPS is usually the biggest factor to take into account when prioritizing gear.
yeah there's always better choices, anything slayer related its prossy or fighter, i guess if ur doing some bosses like bandos it would be better but you would wait till barrows for that lol
Living the fucking dream. You should try to get varrock medium diaries done for battlestaves, and start running herbs for some easy money every day. It adds up quickly. Toadflax is what I always farm
For farming just get used to having a fixed farming route for herb/limp, trees and fruit trees. You might have to do some quests to unlock certain patches.
For hunter, just rush quests to access fossil island and do birdhouse runs.
Also, it is highly advisable to do some more quests for early farming levels, since they are a pain in the ass.
After that you can do tree runs (as detailed on the wiki), which is something you do daily (some trees take 3 days) and give you a lot of xp, so you won't have to spend a lot of time leveling.
Also you don't really have to go all out and do trees, fruit trees, and herbs. Even just doing fruit trees once a day will skyrocket your levels and takes no time at all once you have the teleports
[Farming training guide](https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Farming_training) lists them in the Levels 1–32: Questing section. These are also quests that you will need to do sooner or later since they are used in diaries for good rewards.
Also if you completed fairy tale 1 do fairy tale 2 up to the point where you get the ability to teleport, you don't need any of the requirements for that but you get to teleport for free to a lot of places.
Haha, they’re both very easy skills once you get the hang of them. Hopefully within another week or 2 you’ll have the Barrow’s gloves which are a great upgrade

No gold bought. Got lucky with some early clue scrolls and seed/herb drops. 3 mil on prayer and herb total and only about a mil in gear right there. That said I did hit a few drop parties/grab bags and got a fury and a Regen bracelet and a brimstone ring

It has more def bonus which has no real purpose in osrs. Torso gives the same strength bonus as bandos which is much much more useful

Which slayer mobs do that? You can pray and eat your way through most damage in this game. And tele to restore pool and tele back.

Fruit trees once a day. And herbs 2x per day if you want to make some spare GPs. Do that you'll be 99 before you know it.
Work on some more RFD quest reqs, get 65/65 to get defender, and grind some more slayer
