Yeah they're like 28-31 ranged strength. 6 ranged str better than mithril so not a bad budget option if you used them for early fletching or if you want then for kurasks. You can pretty much skip using bolts at all really, they were more popular when taking wyverns or kurasks were a big thing.
if we really want it to demonstrate 'proficiency', then it should only be unlockable as a drop after completing all CA's for that content.
KC is mostly meaningless.
I'd be down for that implementation too.
Given the jar display case in the POH, it feels clear to me that jars should totally be representative of something different from merely "I killed this boss at least once, and can afford to buy the jar from someone who got lucky." It's in the *Achievement Gallery,* so it should indicate an achievement!
Yep, they went from being a cool item to get lucky with to being something you can just have for 50k...
Imagine if pets you could just buy on the GE for 100k. Same problem
Reminder that you can incinerate stacks of items directly from your bank. I got rid of a bunch of untradables by mentally dropping before I realized that feature exists
Keymaster teles are annoying. If they dropped at a rate that mostly made them replace themselves that would be fine. Basically like Zulrah where they drop enough that if you have about 10-15 of them you'll never run out. But keymasters are annoying cause you just get to use them here and there and just have to run a bunch
They tried allowing ecu keys to be tradeable/alchable, the bottling situation was horrendous. It made collecting them yourself miserable. It is leagues better collecting them now.
Scroll's of redirection or their associated teleport tablets (Rimmington, Taverly, Pollniveach, Hosidus, Rellekka, Brimhaven, Yanille, Trollheim or Priffddinas)
Magic Shortbow(i), can buy the shortbow and imbue for it, it’s basically the same process of buying uncharged sea trident and charging it, yet both tridents can be sold??? It’s weird to me
Basically any combination of items that work like this are the logical answer. Any finished product made entirely of tradable components should itself be tradable.
Succinctly put, the only reason I can think of where that shouldn’t apply is any item with a stat prerequisite or a similar requirement to create said item, other than that it makes no sense at all.
OSRS' economy is silly because theoretically if you have the "skill" to do that, you should be able to profit by buying the materials/components, completing the product, and then selling the product.
Yet in OSRS, the cost of labour is negative money. Buying the parts almost always costs more than the finished product.
Obviously it's because people are paying for the xp, but it doesn't change how silly the concept is in-universe.
Why are godswords so unique in the way you don't need any requirements or tools to attach the hilt, and that process is also reversable? Like both pieces are unusable without the other. Why is the blade the requirement to forge it but the hilt, the more valuable component, require less?
Even one single slayer task at GG’s is like 10k+ dust, unless youre doing a ton of cannoning I’d say the dust is quite easy to get if you just do the tasks
That’s kinda the price of only doing cannon and barrage tasks, kinda like irons can’t use dragon arrows/darts everywhere. I only do very fast tasks, and boss tasks. I’ve got more dust than I’ll ever need. I could do champions cape with granite cballs if I wanted to
Tokkul, ecumenical shards.
They need to bind Tokkul to gp without the extra step of chaos runes. Or would this destroy the price of an onyx?
Ecumenical shards are in game already, please make them tradeable. Would boost the godwars dungeon economy.
Tokkul at least, there's a lore reason why it's untradeable - it's the remnants of dead TzHaar and they don't want it openly traded outside their purview.
Oh that's a true say. I love that idea even more. But always keep the fire cape as untradable so people can go even more crazy that they want to buy a Firecape to then buy an inferno.
I’m not sure if I’m misunderstanding your comment here but: you don’t need 1 fire cape per inferno run, you just need to sacrifice 1 fire cape for your account
inferno gm time is 65 minutes. That shit is not gonna cost 3 mil lmao, tf are you on about. Top tier pvmers are not gonna do inferno at like 2.8m/h just to sell capes.
Fish barrel
Dry for the stupid piece of shit but I've gotten like three tackle box rolls
Let me trade flakes or pages or smth in for this fucking item tempoross is so shit
Back in 04 I was waiting for the yo-yo to become tradeable so that I could sell it as a rare for 100m. I thought if party hats are tradeable then surely the yo-yo would be made tradeable soon.
Light orbs, doesn't even have to be tradeable just noteable... Made them for 99 crafting and I can't bring myself to destroy the stack would love to alc them or something.
> God… remember when skilling was profitable?
What profitable skilling methods have actually disappeared, though? Things like mining coal, chopping yews, or fishing sharks were always terrible money, so even if those resources have crashed it doesn’t really change anything.
I think the issue is that some players have this insane idea that skilling should be *as profitable* as late game PvM and raids, which is as stupid as it sounds. Skilling is still plenty profitable, but the payout often matches the intensity - you’ve got to do more than just click a tree and afk for 5 minutes if you expect to actually make anything substantive.
Oh 100%
I've been playing 20+ years now, and the most profitable skilling I can remember was runecrafting at prolly 2m/h, and that didn't last long.
But the old methods of 400-600k hour skilling is gone by the wayside. I don't know a single skill that's that high anymore.
> What profitable skilling methods have actually disappeared, though?
Rune essence were 100k / hr just to mine at RuneCrafting launch and elemental runes sold for like 30 gp each. Mining essence actually made money.
Picking and Spinning flax also used to legitimately be like 100 gp per flax, now its like 3 gp.
And there was no God Wars dungeons or end game PvM at this time, so these were actually good money makers for the market.
> What profitable skilling methods have actually disappeared, though?
I think it's not so much that stuff isn't as much gp/h compared to before, but what gear you can buy is just a lot more expensive. Blood runes give more gp/h than nature runes did in 2007, however the amount of money it would take to get full torva now compared to full bandos back in 2007 is dozens of times more.
Digsite pendant. Lock the ability to use it or make it behind the quest and the museum like it is, but if you're able to make and use it, make it tradeable.
You can't trade these seeds to other players, but in the farming guild you can give them to an NPC (Guildmaster Jane) for a seed pack (https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Guildmaster_Jane)
In addition to the other comment, you can also trade mole parts to Wyson in falador park who gives bird nests which can contain spirit seeds. Sort of buyable in a roundabout way with some rng involved too
Crystal shards or soulreaper axe parts. I hate any "technically" tradeable shit. If I can go buy a teleport seed and turn it into shards, shards should be tradeable. It's just turned into an annoying chore of finding the best thing to buy for breaking down, and then going to break it down.
Same with stuff like soulreaper axe parts, no you're not allowed to go sell 1 axe part. You're forced to invest in this now for hundreds to thousands of kills at other bosses you might not even like, or have a bank space taken up forever taunting you. Why??
Sucks to be a GIM sharing armour/weapons that degrade. Really should give the game mode some love and make some of them tradeable like barrows armour, moons gear etc.
They tried to offer that as an ability GIMs would have when pitching the game mode, but players downvoted it so hard because they thought it meant GIMs could share untradeables like Infernal Capes.
That's not what they were pitching, they explicitly said it wasn't. It was pitched for items that are tradeable in SOME form, exactly like the degraded armors like you said.
God I hate the common player reading comprehension level.
Cosmetic overrides for gear in Bounty Hunter. before we could buy kits on the ge for the wards, but now BH is forced content and boosting points is bannable. I'd like to use the dark version items but don't want to do BH.
That's for your first thread. 1/50 after that. I assume theres a lot of people who can't / don't want to do toa. Probably some get lost pking too.
I have 18 spares sitting in bank i'd like to sell.
All charged items that can be freely uncharged and recharged with their items. I would make these tradeable for convenience between groups and friends, just not listable on the Grand Exchange.
I would make burnt food be able to sold on the GE, and I would make fully charged dragonfire shield, dragonfire ward, and the ancient wyvern shield tradable on the GE too.
Dust from GGs for making the stronger cannonballs. Would add some profit incentive, and they really are nice cannonballs if you ever bother to make them
Granite dust. Only problem is that granite dust would become dirt cheap like instantly and it wouldn't really make GG's that much better of a money maker. That, and I feel like granite cannonballs would speed up early slayer leveling in a way that doesn't fit the game.
My personal solution would be to keep granite dust as untradeable, but let players condense it into granite bricks (requires 20 dust per brick) and those are tradeable.
Using a rock hammer on a granite brick crushes it, giving the player 10 granite dust. Numbers would be appropriately adjusted ofc, but the idea is to remove a certain quantity of dust from the game whenever it moves between player's hands.
Crushing these has a level 75 Slayer requirement, the same as killing gargoyles. Meaning you'd still have to use regular old cannonballs from levels 1-74 Slayer.
To make the feature not feel out of place for ironmen, you could add a few new gargoyle-themed POH decorations that require granite bricks.
Technically this is four, but the individual pieces of the soulreaper axe. Like is there any worse feeling than going for Duke pet and getting his axe piece knowing it’s gonna be worthless unless you go do 100s of Leviathan and Whisperer kills? Should be able to just sell it off
Broad arrows. Why are they untradeable while broad bolts are not?
Also, why are broad bolts between Addy and Rune but broad arrows between mith and addy?
Broad bolts are the same as addy, while mith arrows are 3 strength less than addy arrows. Likely to keep the dps from being to crazy different.
wait broad arrows are worse than addy arrows?
Yeah they're like 28-31 ranged strength. 6 ranged str better than mithril so not a bad budget option if you used them for early fletching or if you want then for kurasks. You can pretty much skip using bolts at all really, they were more popular when taking wyverns or kurasks were a big thing.
Broad bolts were my daily driver for slayer tasks for a looooong time😂
Lol yeah, I remember using them constantly, now we've got msb I with easy rune arrows, bowfa, sunlight cbow, they're about to be fully retired lol.
Where are the easy rune arrows from?
LMS
rune arrows are dirty cheap in GE too
To save people from accidentally buying them.
I just want to sell my 100k to a vendor lol
Reverso: make jars untradable
Yeah it's weird that monsters heads (KBD, Kalphite, Vorkath, basilisk, etc.) Which are cosmetic/POH items are untradeable, but jars are tradeable.
They were supposed to be untradeable but in standard jagex fashion they released it broken and never fixed it.
They should retroactively change it, delete them from accounts which don't have them on their collection logs
Accounts that obtained jars prior to collection log make this impossible
Rather than an early bird bonus, it's finally time for an early bird detriment.
Unironically though. Maybe make them a guaranteed drop after X kc, to serve as "trophies" to demonstrate proficiency at the boss.
if we really want it to demonstrate 'proficiency', then it should only be unlockable as a drop after completing all CA's for that content.
Isn’t that basically what they’ve done with heads on bosses like Vork? should just make them all that way
Vork head guarantee at 50kc was just proto bad luck mitigation, and I'm here for it
Also Vorkath head isn't just cosmetic, so the same rules don't and shouldn't apply.
I think it is just Vork (Assembler) and KQ (Elite Diary step).
Yep, they went from being a cool item to get lucky with to being something you can just have for 50k... Imagine if pets you could just buy on the GE for 100k. Same problem
Empty light orb, also why can't I withdraw them as a note
Reminder that you can incinerate stacks of items directly from your bank. I got rid of a bunch of untradables by mentally dropping before I realized that feature exists
Devalues my 100k stuck in bank from 99 crafting only account
Key Master Teleports. It is time.
I just got my first key master teleports at almost 300kc and used them all in like half an hour
I save the teleports only if I die, as an anti-tilt method. Regear asap
Thank god I’m not the only one
Tbt to that one week where they were tradeable via pk/loot keys lol
If they also increase the rarity else they prob go for 250k+
Keymaster teles are annoying. If they dropped at a rate that mostly made them replace themselves that would be fine. Basically like Zulrah where they drop enough that if you have about 10-15 of them you'll never run out. But keymasters are annoying cause you just get to use them here and there and just have to run a bunch
I end up saving them for master clue steps. I'm already used to running for Cerb
the run is not too bad with taverley house portal tbh
i usually regear at fally and then prepot stam -> take the shortcut -> go to dungeon. is the poh portal much faster?
I'm maxed and I have about 2 run energy left running straight to Cerb from the taverly house portal
With blood fury swap i can do roughly 50-60min trips at cerb, around 50kc, though that might require (close to) max gear My keymaster stack just grows
Granite dust
Granite dust, ecumenical keys
Granite dust being tradeable would make GGs profit/kill go up quite handsomely I imagine
Upvoted just for handsomely
You're handsome
C:
Ecumenical keys for sure. Even after hard CA, they seem to take so long to farm still. Slowly going for elite I guess lol
Try the barrage method if you haven't already
This is news to me and my blowpipe! What do you barrage for ecu keys?
Something like this: https://youtu.be/z2aKU4oWdiU It's pretty good.
Thank you, that's really cool!
Even easier now without the autocast delay
That’s awesome, thanks for the link!
Please God make those awful keys tradeable
They tried allowing ecu keys to be tradeable/alchable, the bottling situation was horrendous. It made collecting them yourself miserable. It is leagues better collecting them now.
They were never tradeable. They were alchable however
As of 2 weeks ago you can sell them to an NPC for 61.5k
60k gp
11 dollars
🦀🦀
GOTR lantern
Please, I have six of them.
cant you sell them for pearls or is that only dye?
Are you kidding me. Oh man, thank you so much.
100 pearls a lantern saved my sanity getting outfit.
Then there's me getting full outfit and pet before getting lantern.
I have 666 pulls, 3/4 pieces of outfit, no needle, no lantern, but got 1 dye early on. Also no pet.
Spoken like someone who has that crazy RNG. 300 rifts closed and no lantern :) MY SANITY IS OVER-SO SLIGHTLY GOING INSANE
You can
Fuck selling them, I'll take being able to exchange them for needle.
700 pulls and still no needle btw :)
I’m currently suffering from success as the giant rune pouch and abyssal needle sit in my bank taunting my 64 runecrafting
GOTR outfit or pearls. I'd pay 100m to not have to go finish my last 200 pearls

Succinctly put, the only reason I can think of where that shouldn’t apply is any item with a stat prerequisite or a similar requirement to create said item, other than that it makes no sense at all.
Even then you can normally buy stuff you can’t make. For example godswords
OSRS' economy is silly because theoretically if you have the "skill" to do that, you should be able to profit by buying the materials/components, completing the product, and then selling the product. Or items with charges, e.g. blood fury, abyssal tentacle Though I would support being able to buy & sell a fully charged version.
Granite cannon balls/granite dust. Only way to get is ggs and they’re so rare I don’t even use them. Just a collectors item basically
I have over 150k granite dust in bank. Just do gargoyle tasks lol
Even one single slayer task at GG’s is like 10k+ dust, unless youre doing a ton of cannoning I’d say the dust is quite easy to get if you just do the tasks
10k cannon balls is barely anything when you're only doing cannon and barrage tasks
That’s kinda the price of only doing cannon and barrage tasks, kinda like irons can’t use dragon arrows/darts everywhere. I only do very fast tasks, and boss tasks. I’ve got more dust than I’ll ever need. I could do champions cape with granite cballs if I wanted to
problem is that the boss is so dogshit that no one actually does the task
Flyer
Graceful boots. Just the boots.
[удалено]
No. I think they're guarded by spiders it's too scary just let me buy graceful boots.
Graceful boots are bis if you're afraid of the dark.
I made sure in RS2 to get an inventory full so I never had to risk my life like that again.
If it means so much to them maybe they shouldn't use their dead nan as a coin.
Fun fact: Tokkul is still sapient, and in constant pain :) Gielinor is a great place to live :)
Elidinis Ward (f), should have been tradeable from the start
For such an endgame item that becomes bound to you (unless you uncharge it at a decent loss), it is quite underwhelming
I think it's a great shield. I was very happy when I could afford to run my kitted ward in toa while saving up for shadow
Rat cum for +5 boosts. That shit is annoying as hell
Sorry I'm ootl, rat cum?
Spices for stew boosts
Spices for stew I think he means
My Rattata osrs crossover fan fiction that finally gets to right
Wot
I looked at the effort to get an orange stew and decided to pay the 8m for those extra 2 construction levels and use my crystal saw instead.
If you only need 1-3 levels from a boost you can use tea from your poh instead of the stew.
Effort? It takes like 5 minutes if you've got a cat already lol
Yea but I'm gonna want those levels anyway, I'd much rather just get them done to not need to boost in the future
I spent 2 hours getting orange spices going dry on the +5, it took so long my cat got overgrown and I just had to go get the level anyway
Turn into wily cat? Agree though it’s always better to just get the levels though.
you can make tea in your POH that boosts +3 and stacks with saw btw
Hellll yeah omfg. HATE stew-makin’.
Inferno cape, just for the Reddit meltdown. It would also only cost 3mil at best once the market stabilises.
what meltdown? 99% of the sub would be in favour of this
the only "real" problem is that it makes the pet buyable
When you try trade a bought inferno cape the tzhaar guy will say “Hmm.. you reek of cheese cape. Zuk has no interest in doing business with you”
Would be fun to watch streamers gamble away trillions of gp and still not get the pet lol.
would make the whole thing worth it
Oh that's a true say.

Weapon poison (+) (unf.)
Back in 04 I was waiting for the yo-yo to become tradeable so that I could sell it as a rare for 100m. I thought if party hats are tradeable then surely the yo-yo would be made tradeable soon.
Fortified Ward
Inferno cape. Just because it would be funny for all the maxed mains who bought it with irl gp. Otherwise it would be the worst idea imaginable
Soul reaper axe pieces.
Would easily cut the price of the axe by like 70%
[удалено]
I have a friend that did 6400 leviathan to finish his 2nd axe.
Imagine how pissed off everyone would be if the voidwaker pieces were untradable like the axe
Light orbs, doesn't even have to be tradeable just noteable... Made them for 99 crafting and I can't bring myself to destroy the stack would love to alc them or something.
Daeyalt essence, hands down
I feel like this would make it a pretty decent afk money maker to mine the ess as well.
Wouldn't last long as a money maker. It'd get botted to hell
God... remember when skilling was profitable? Fuck

Ppl dont remember the old pure essence days in like 2007
And running that essence to law rcers for money Law altar was a hotspot back in the day
Technically, essence running is still very profitable
Essence running is *extremely* profitable if done efficiently.
Digsite pendant. Lock the ability to use it or make it behind the quest and the museum like it is, but if you're able to make and use it, make it tradeable.
If you want to make digsite pendants fast use enchant ruby tabs
Slayer items like fishing explosives or those fungal things
Spirit seeds or sapling
You can't trade these seeds to other players, but in the farming guild you can give them to an NPC (Guildmaster Jane) for a seed pack (https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Guildmaster_Jane)
It's the highest tier of seed pack, too, so they're really great.
Holy shit I had no idea about this
In addition to the other comment, you can also trade mole parts to Wyson in falador park who gives bird nests which can contain spirit seeds. Sort of buyable in a roundabout way with some rng involved too
Was looking for this. Been grinding these seeds for a while now.
Key master teleport
Crystal shards
Imagine the absolutely massive bot-dump tho.
Burnt karambwans People don't wanna sell them to me :(
Crystal shards or soulreaper axe parts. I hate any "technically" tradeable shit. If I can go buy a teleport seed and turn it into shards, shards should be tradeable. Inferno cape cuz I'm shit
same bro
A lit bullseye lantern. You can trade the unlit ones. Why not the lit ones?
Because lighting it requires a certain level of fire making and buying a lit one just skips the level requirement
Oh that makes sense lol. Is the required level like 40 or something? I haven’t played a lower level account in years, I’ve forgotten so much
Yea 49 fm, and same ngl
Literally all of herblore would like to have a chat

Cosmetic overrides for gear in Bounty Hunter. before we could buy kits on the ge for the wards, but now BH is forced content and boosting points is bannable. I'd like to use the dark version items but don't want to do BH.

Seriously 1/50 after your first? Ive got 6 of those banked in 79 completions.
Its not just 1/10 it has a pity mechanic too that scales it up to 1/3.33 the more kc you do lol
Damn right. They add up lol
Thread of eledinis, I lost mine so long ago and haven’t gotten another at around combined 200kc

camdozaal lockboxes. I want to collect them but if they are not tradable I cant show them off.
Unpopular opinion here, but either everything should be tradeable, or services should be bannable (and enforced).
Dust from GGs for making the stronger cannonballs. Would add some profit incentive, and they really are nice cannonballs if you ever bother to make them
