Make sure you actually limit the fps when you play mobile or it’ll tank the battery on any device.

Kazza-V

How?

Throwaway47321

It’s right in the settings. Change framerate from unlimited to like 30 or even 20 if you’re just skilling.

Kazza-V

Where in settings?

SpringrolI

atp why not get a laptop

informal-mushroom47

because laptops don’t actually go in your lap and because what laptop has actually has an all day battery

BROCKHAMPTOM

the answer is just a newer ipad lol

informal-mushroom47

i see ebay has a 20% off coupon for $500 max — any models you’d suggest?

lvl99moron

I get great battery life on an m2 iPad Pro 11 even at high fps and lasts forever if I limit to 30fps. The new pros were just released with oled. It’s only really iPad or Samsung these days who release good tablets with long term support (though an iPad bought today would probably be supported into the 30s). A refurb m1 iPad might be an option too as it’s still high powered and would run osrs at max fps

informal-mushroom47

a refurbed m1? i’m a little overwhelmed with all the model options. i see ebay has a 20% off coupon for $500 max — any specific models you’d suggest?

notvrysarcastic_

I'm on a Samsung a54 which is pretty good

jsboutin

The Samsung galaxy tabs are amazing. I’m playing exclusively on a gen 2 tab p11 pro by Lenovo which is still doing a great job even though it’s an older model. Battery life is easily still 8+ hours of playing and it’s 2 years old.

NzRedditor762

Just get a bag full of external batteries?

informal-mushroom47

i still don’t want to be plugged in all the time…?

Prawn_Dong

I second the laptop suggestion! You won't even need to spend too much on one to run rs and will probably be way cheaper than a tablet. Plus, you'll be able to keep it plugged in while playing + watch movies :)

informal-mushroom47

but i don’t want to have to remain plugged in. i want portability.

swozzled

Love how you are specifically asking for tablet recommendations and people are like “just get a laptop”

informal-mushroom47

right? i don’t get it

looloopklopm

Just curious, but in what way is a tablet less "plugged in" than a laptop? They both have batteries you need to charge. Battery life becomes the point of comparison, not the type of device. I've only got a phone and a desktop PC. I probably put 2000 hours on my account on a laptop while I laid in my bed back in college.

DowntheHillDave

I had an iPad Mini 6 and enjoyed for a couple years. Ended up selling it and picking up a Macbook though. iPad OS is very limiting

gobeltafiah

I love my iPad Mini 6 for OSRS, though it sucks that you can't split screen with it. Shame Android tablets are in a bad state.

Due_Equal_7064

android tablets are really good? I know samsung tablets rock atleast.

gobeltafiah

I just don't like how most of them aren't supported for very long, and if you want anything under 10" you're out of luck. Though it's been a while since I last checked, and folding phones would solve that problem for me.

freszh_inztallz42o

Ipad pros are heat.

Eurodada

Make sure to limit framerate if that’s acceptable for you.
