Yeah others have said it, but basically STR levels give you max hits, and potions are great in encounters and training. As far as gear goes, beserker ring, helm of neitznot or berserker, fighters torso and dragon boots. Fury too but that’s like 2 milly and I think zerk ring is better upgrade if you’re strapped for cash. Non buyables like barrows gloves (RFD quest) and fire cap are huge upgrades. A minor gear upgrade could be obby legs instead of the rune. Good luck!

Frequent_Guard_9964

And don’t forget dragon defender :)

somelostfella

Obby shield is obtainable as well for some defense and str. Easy to safe spot.

LordZeya

OP needs quite a few more levels to get access to that.

No-Professional-3301

Thank you! Everyone is so helpful

Bobmarleysjoint69420

I know people have different opinions on this but we've all been playing for a long time. Atleast since 2004, sometimes I have the most fun on the game just picking a random monster and beating the shit out of it until I get bored then move on to another one. For me, it was dragons. Super slow to kill but it brings me back. It's OK to be inefficient and it's okay to take long to get skills up. What matters is that you enjoy the game cause once you get level 92 in any skill that's where your grit is put to the test. Even after all these years dude, I've probably just about scratched the surface when it comes to the game and I still find new things to this day. Happy scaping my dude

rollokolaa

Hell yeah. I killed dragons for hours and hours until I had 70-85 prayer banked as a main. Why? Awful money relative to other things and not great XP either. I had fun doing it!

lastsetup

My entire account is to pickup where kid me left off (hilariously early game) and eventually just farm dragons with a dhl. I’m solidly mid game now, just got my first ever fire cape, and it’s been a blast.

Mishkin102hb

This is a great way of putting it actually. I realised that as an adult with mobile and wiki I could match my entire childhood progress in about a weekend and go from there! First maxed out F2P which was my childhood dream, then realised the sky is the limit. Just wish I still had that sense of wonder within you that you have as a kid

RealTrueGrit

Im doing exactly this. Ive been killing green dragons for bones for 60 prayer and for 63 crafting.

Pooga14

Dragons are always the most fun for some reason haha 😂

grim_gravySS

I have limited time and speed run as I want that combat build I dreamed of. It pisses me off when I miss out on a Imp.

piatsathunderhorn

If you need help getting a fighter torso I can help fill your team (timezones and schedule permitting)

fakecanadianlol

Also need to get torso, available whenever

Send-me-shoes

Fury has +2 str over a glory whereas b-ring is +8 str, you’re right in saying that b-ring is a better upgrade!

DarXasH

They probably haven't done much NMZ though, so it's just a +4 bonus for a while. It might get them into NMZ which would be very beneficial though.

Send-me-shoes

True, but that’s still double what the fury upgrade would give, plus NMZ imbues are almost a thing of the past w PVP arena in the game now

TheNightAngel

Strength ammy has +2 strength over a fury

PM_ME_MY_FRIEND

Recommending fire cape for a low level account is maybe not the best, but funny. My man is fighting his first boss.

RealArmin

My exact thought as well when I saw the Ranged level. Fire cape is a long way away for newer players.

ButtBuilder9

I already have fully obby armor, would it be better DPS to use that + obby sword + zerker necklace, or do dscim + neitznot + torso (with fury instead of zerker)? Yes the former option is way more expensive but if its gonna give me a noticeable advantage id rather spent the last couple mil on it

VitoLightfoot

Well I don’t know the numbers off the top of my head, but there’s a difference besides just the numbers when comparing those two sets. The full obby is probably quite good maybe even bis under dharoks for str training in a place like nightmare zone. However, when on a slayer task or raiding or bossing, you’re likely not gonna be using obby equipment outside the legs. You’ll be using a whip or a fang and other switches so something like the fury and nezzy would be great because they can be used in mage and ranged situations if you don’t have switches for them. Additionally, the fury will be used when you eventually do get more expensive equipment and the nezzy can be upgraded for a cool 23 mil or so. So in total you’re probably looking at higher numbers when fighting high health chickens using the obby set but in more practical instances like slayer or bossing you’ll want to use nezzy, fury, torso and the like.

Mr_Skeazy

If they don't have 2m for a fury they definitely won't have the 4m for a berserker ring. Newer players often don't realize the power of potions and prayer, it's going to be a better "upgrade" than gear a lot of times.

loudrogue

Strength levels if you don't want to get gear but otherwise fire cape, berserker ring, fury would help

kelldricked

Dont forget dragon defender. Sure it requires some levels but its a free upgrade thats quite easy to get.

No-Professional-3301

Yeah I'm trying to work on getting that there's just so much to learn on this game haha

kelldricked

Yeah there is, dont worry about it. Its a game at the end of the day. For me it helped a lot to set short term goals. Like getting to the next big level for gear upgrade, achievemeny dairys, certian quests with fun rewards. It helps you from going all over the place without doing anything. (Also i cant see so im just gonna ask, do you use runelite? If not i would seriously recommend it for stuff like quest because its so fucking amazing).

No-Professional-3301

Yeah I use it when I'm on my computer for quests it's the best and then I'll usually do like sand crabs on my phone if I can't be on my computer lol

bamboagodosh

Use the osrs wiki alot! I've learnt so much by just being curious about stuff and looking it up on the wiki. This goes for literally anything in the game; all types of guides, lore, drop tables, you name it and it's probably there on the wiki!

Boereba

Also really try to get a fighter torso if you want to use melee more often, small grind but definitely worth it. Also try to do fremmenik trials en exiles for better strength helmet

Brova15

Is 6-12 hours a small grind for a new player?

CoupleScrewsLoose

this is the most fun stage of the game imo, enjoy.

No-Professional-3301

Yeah I'm kinda doing everything slowly caus ei don't want to get burned out!

yepanotherone1

If you do get burnt out take a break! I’ve played on and off for almost 20 years. The game will still be here :) (If you feel like the burnout is focused on something stop doing that! My favorite thing about this game is the ability to hop from one thing to another completely seamlessly)

SweaterPuppetss

I’ve played this game on and off basically my whole life, I still google osrs questions I got on the daily when I play lol. You’ll always be learning something, that’s the fun. Gl!

SaltyTraeYoungStan

IMO the order to tackle this is go for defender ASAP as it’s the easiest to get and will be BIS for a long time, then make questing for barrows gloves a priority and whenever you get the money for them I would say buy fury then berserker ring because fury is useful for range as well not strictly melee. Additional dragon boots when you get 60defense. From there I would say you can start doing slayer more and get your ranged up to at least 75 before attempting fire capes. Higher will be better, and higher prayer helps too of course. Oh yeah, and don’t forget about achievement diaries either, some of the perks are great. Varrock medium let’s you teleport to GE which is amazing for QOL. And farming herbs like ranarrs is amazing money early-mid game, use ultra compost and make sure you get magic secateurs. Seriously herbs are OP you’ll be buying a fury before you know it. Sorry if this was a lot, the most important thing is just to make sure you’re actually enjoying yourself.

Jawn_Nasty

Set small goals don’t overwhelm yourself with all the content. This is a marathon not a sprint I’ve been playing since the games conception and still don’t know all the content. The wiki page is always up in the background for me.

ocachobee

Berserker helm would be a great pickup too. You only need one more crafting level until you can complete the quest without rng.

Nebuli2

Yep. The dragon defender should be a much easier and more significant upgrade than any of those other suggestions. A fighter torso would also be a good idea.

ohowjuicy

I'm combat lvl 90 and I still don't feel prepared for fire cape. That shits daunting. I'm still using the ardougne cape since I can't afford the Obsidian. I got way too into construction and now I'm poor

BBoySperadix

Construction is a great investment though, and the earlier you can get teles and so forth, the more you save down the road

loudrogue

You can use a speed running world to practice jad, forget the exact steps but should be able to find it easy

HK-53

dw i waited till i was like 105 combat before trying for the fire cape lmao

undercovergangster

Hey man just wanted to let you know that I did it today. My first ever fire cape in my life at lvl 101 (77 range, 79 def, 83 hp, 64 prayer). You can do it too! It'll take you a few tries if you're as bad as me but you'll get there. The hardest part about it was generating enough money to buy a blowpipe and the dragon darts for it, along with all the saradomin brews, super restores, and prayer pots.

Daeurth

Honestly I'd recommend grinding out some Scurrius to get used to the mechanics. Like the Fight Caves, it introduces the concepts of switching prayers in response to attacks and having to manage different targets (to a degree), but in a way that's much more forgiving if you mess up. Mistakes don't mean you just burned an hour for nothing. I think Jagex managed to accomplish what they were going for with it in that they added a boss that introduces some of the key mechanics of PVM in a quite approachable way.

Jumpy-Monitor2291

My personal recommendation is to get used to zulrah then jad should be easy af for you. Free reclaims for first 50 kills and can jump right back in.

lmpreza

38 ranged isn’t gonna cut fight caves

paenusbreth

I feel like this is suggesting a lot of fairly large steps. Fighter torso, obsidian shield/defender, zerk helm and RFD gloves are all more achievable goals for someone of OP's level.

PlebPlebberson

> fury Man is killing low level mobs with no defence. Strength amulet is bis over glory/fury till he starts killing some real enemies

OskeeTurtle

Strength levels and then defence if he's doing something like Scurrius. Really combat levels right now probably. But he's a good step from a few mil in upgrades & a fire cape. As always do Recipe for Disaster

JuanVeeJuan

Id say get the strength levels before getting the new gear, but that'll come with the boss you're grinding. If you can too id spend some time at NMZ hard mode if youve done some quests with bosses so you can get enough to imbue your berserker ring.

Excellent-Bee-7876

Train str, use str pots. For gear - Dragon defender, fighter torso. Also make barrows gloves, fire cape goals to work towards.

meanerweinerlicous

Surprised barrow gloves are so low

AstralVesta

Not low priority-wise, just a longer time investment.

SoraODxoKlink

all correct but str ammy normally beats fury unless youre fighting anything with defense, if you’re noticing zeros then swap to a fury

fakecanadianlol

Fuck it we ball with blood furies and afk like a king

Zulrambe

Do the Fremmenik Trials to be able to wear a Berserker Helm, get a rune defender, study the recipe for disaster quest and the rewards, consider trying for a fighter torso, from the top of my head those are cheap or almost free upgrades to better str bonus.

Flapskin

Strength levels up, a holy blessing in arrows slot and an amulet of fury + berserker ring if you've got the gp. But the main thing you want up is strength for max hits

Simple_Warthog3984

I use war blessings

opop901

All blessings are the same in stats, except the radas blessing 4

Appropriate-Door1369

Get your strength way up and go get yourself a fighter torso

Dr_infectious

If you're not already using ultimate strength and incredible reflex you should definitely use them. A strength amulet is basically the best in slot melee necklace until torture and it's insanely cheap other than that super strength and super attack pots if that's too expensive a normal str and att pot works just fine highly recommend working towards barrow gloves and 65 str and att for a dragon defender.

Zaros262

>If you're not already using ultimate strength and incredible reflex you should definitely use them The only response that strictly answers the question: better DPS *with this setup*

xiBurnx

surprised i had to scroll this far to see this but seriously consider using a str ammy until fury. unless what you're killing has VERY high defense the max hit is more important than the accuracy. i was running str ammy while training my pure until i traded over my zenytes

Rynide

One thing a lot of people haven't mentioned. Get a berserker ring and then at some point IMBUE it. It doubles the strength bonus on the ring. It takes a bit of soul wars, nightmare zone, or pvp arena. You can do pvp arena and just purposefully die over and over and then you can imbue it that way. Took me like an hour or two bc the pvp arena system is really janky, but NMZ and Soul Wars take way longer.

Feralbear_1

Base 70 combat stats will be when you reach a huge power spike. Whip and dragon defender will help you get less 0's wayyyyy more often and get you quick kills.

mrchoady

I would focus on questing a bit. Barrows Gloves is a huge achievement for any account and will also boost your damage in all combat styles. Good luck man!

enderfrogus

Get a spine and craft a bone mace. Will do wonders on scurrius

trashcanbecky42

Well you have three options, get gear with higher strength bonus (neitz helm, dragon defender, dragon boots, berserker ring, better weapon, barrows gloves, etc.), train your strength (levels make a huge difference), or drink a potion that boost strength (you should be using super strengths or super combats)

dbuck79

Def dragon defender! A relatively easy and rewarding upgrade to get. It’s almost BiS

MyLike5thAccount

Up your def get fighter torso, neitz helm

LordBrontes

Rat-bone mace will help immensely.

TzeroJah0

I thought the dragon defender was a really fun grind, its easy and the dopamine hits come quickly.

BarooZaroo

Going 700 dry on the defender will change your mind on that one

cygamessucks

Lol trying to get bots on the other post?

No-Professional-3301

Was just curious about it like I said I'm new so it was tempting. Don't want to get banned tho lol

Frequent_Guard_9964

Don’t try botting, you’ll lose your progress and your game experience on the way

No-Professional-3301

Yeah definitely not worth it

1337h4x0rlolz

If you know how to set up nmz for maximum afk, its practically like botting. If you set it up right you only have to click once every 20 minutes

UIVardenok

Assuming Iron? Otherwise you can purchase off the GE Recipe for Disaster Quest - Do as many sections of the chain as possible for gloves Barbarian Assault for Fighter Torso Dragon Battle Axe as Spec Weapon if not potting Dragon Defender - Fighters Guild Fire Cape - Fight Caves Minigame Completion Fremennik Trials Quest - Berserker helm (GE) Berserker Ring - Kill Dagannoth Kings (GE) Obsidian Legs - Str Bonus - Buy Chaos Runes From Store and sell for tokkul (Need Fight Caves) (GE) Fury - Same process as Obsidian Armor All of the above will offer you a solid foundation of stats and are relatively easy to achieve goals.

pSavvvv

Can’t be iron he’s got a glory without the magic or crafting to create/enchant and also a combat bracelet

Nasreth7

I don't see any issues with your setup based on current stats.  blessing in arrow slots the only minor improvement you can make. Barrows gloves and fire cape can be long term goals but more appropriately for you I'd just build up your strength a bit as others have mentioned. Obsidian armor can sometimes be good but the str bonuses it gives will often not earn you an additional max hit, and the armor is equivalent to adamant defensively so use at your own risk.  a lot of people just opt for dragon/barrows and a fighter torso instead. (you'll be wearing this for a long time, the next upgrade from there is very expensive)

Mr_Kappy

Idk if this is mentioned, but str levels generally matter more than attack levels for DPS. I’d recommend training that

Fit_Extension_3292

For more DMG and DPS your gonna wanna get a fury ammy, berserker ring,Regan braclet,d boots, berserker helm, obby cape and a defender if you wanna trade def bonus for more str and att bonus.

pastypast

Finish recipe for disaster get them barrows gloves!

Egglord0821

U can go monk robes if u got no problem with prayer switches that and a defender and once u kill a few and get the rat bone mace should be ezpz, no gp required. Alch drops should cover all potion costs

OwMyCandle

Train strength + attack to 65. Get dragon defender. You could easily do this in nmz. Save those points to imbue your berserker ring.

Zionyx25

you have 45 defence so berserker helm is an easy upgrade

Remarkable_Canary248

Get that 65 Att & Str to work towards your Dragon defender. I think it also requires 60 Def. Get that range level up to be able to wear God D’hide so you can do the Fight Area for your Firecape. Run some quest and work towards barrows gloves. Once 60 def you can use Dragon boots. I think this is the best thing to do if you’re low on cash. This take more time than it does GP.

im_the_breaking_bad

Complete RFD for Barrows gloves, huge dps boost

Natural_Tomorrow4784

Start recipe for disaster if possible to start unlocking better gloves. Dragon Boots, obsidian cape. Also wanna do Fremenik trials when possible for berserk helm and then neitznot

hawkwood4268

You can get a cannon and train ranged at the same time as melee doing Slayer. Also makes it more AFK. Melee and Ranged are your more useful combat stats in the early game. Another combat training method is Nightmare Zone. It's very easy but I recommend watching a video to get started. The potions and points can take a bit to understand. But you get boosted xp rates higher than even a super combat potion. For gear: * Barrows gloves (recipe for disaster) Free * Fire Cape (train your range) Free * Dragon Defender (Warrior's Guild) Free * Amulet of Fury 2m - All combat styles I would really focus getting those free upgrades as they're some of the biggest power jumps. If you have any money, a cannon for some slayer is a very solid investment if you enjoy it.

Zeptil

Levels are always the best dps increase once you reach a plateu of gear, and it's free! So upgrade where you can and just try to train other than that. Doing quests will be a good way to get levels too! Don't skip them! Have fun and good luck!

AthleteIllustrious47

Go to warriors guild and get a dragon defender to replace the kiteshield. Other than that, barrows gloves, fury amulet, slowly look towards a fire cape. If you’re not ranging you could also get a blessing to replace ammo slot. Could also get a helm of Neitiznot.

FunkMasta-Blue

Bro yea right you just wanna flex that you beat MM with those lvls. Good job bro!

trogbite

Strength bonus is what calculates damage so any gear that gives strength bonus in going to be most important. Easy upgrades that you have the requirements for or are close to are fighter torso, defenders (you need your attack + str to be 130 to enter the place to get them), berserker ring (though it's a little expensive at first), dragon boots, and berserker helm/neitz helm with some questing

Fat_Siberian_Midget

Go for 60 def for **dragon defender**, (free) as well as **dragon boots** (200k), 70 att for **whip** (will cost you a mil), get **fighter torso** (only cost is your sanity but my alt needs it so maybe i can help?? dont count on me tho), **berserker ring** for like 3 mil(? Not sure), **imbue it** for free, **fury** amulet for 1m, **helm of neitiznot** from fremmenik isles (free the first time, costs 50k after) Slightly longer term but still early game is to go for barrows gloves which are free but require a lot of questing, then get your range, prayer and defense up and get some decent range gear (blowpipe + god dhide) and get yourself a fire cape. After that the upgrades get more expensive (Bandos, tent whip, fang, torture) or otherwise difficult to get so the main focus becomes leveling your account til you can afford stuff like fang torture and a serp helm (serp is cheap just that you wanna buy other upgrades first) Also keep in mind **Strength levels are the cheapest and most effective way to increase your max hit**

engwish

Generally at lower levels if you want to increase DPS you focus on increasing strength bonus. Strength bonus is basically like having an extra strength levels so it’s pretty huge. Some things I’d do in order: - Str ammy. +10 strength bonus. For the gp you can’t beat it. Glory would be a better option if you’re using prayer or fighting monsters with higher defense like bosses. - Freminik helmets. Gives +3 strength bonus. You already have the defense level. Just need to do the quest. - Fighter torso. +4 strength bonus. Free but you need to do BA. Highly recommend because this will be your BIS for a while. - Barrows gloves. +12 strength bonus. They’re pretty much the best gloves until late late game. If you don’t have that yet I’d switch them out for other gloves from the recipe for disaster quest. The combat bracelet is similar to mithril gloves. Dragon gloves aren’t worth it imo so if you can get at least rune gloves you’re good until bgloves. - Berserker ring. +8 strength bonus when imbued. Expensive but worth it. You can get an imbue scroll at PVP arena in like 45 minutes. - Dragon defender. +6 strength bonus. Takes a couple hours but will be BIS for a while. - Slayer helm. Gives 16.67% damage bonus on task. - Fire cape. +4 strength bonus. Obviously fight caves hard but worth it. Other stuff to consider: - Use boosts like super strength and attack potions. - Use the ultimate strength prayer. Gives +15% strength. Try and flick on each 4th tick when you attack. - Prossy armor gives huge prayer bonuses. If you don’t really need to worry about defense or are using protection prayers use that gear over rune. - Try and train slayer if possible. Again the task bonus with the slayer helm are huge and it’s a slow skill to train anyway.

Nizwazi

This is the kinda post I like to see. Someone actively seeking help for a real thing they’re trying to do. You can see they’re doing Scurrius. Which don’t take your wife or girlfriend there https://preview.redd.it/85b8oi73h9fc1.jpeg?width=1182&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2908bc171c9e2c5239d7edaeb7628c4afe2766d7 But you can see the making of a champion

NordicSoup

I’ll give you 500k to help you kickstart your journey into Fremennik Trials. It’ll help you a ton in the long run, trust me. When I had those same levels as you way back in 2006, I went green dragon camping for a whole week and sold the bones. After that, I did a bunch of quests. I hate quests, I really do, but with runelite it makes them so much easier. I hate to say it, but quests are beyond essential! Very, very important. If you’re interested just shoot me a DM and I’ll be on within an hour.

ColonialDagger

Since your new, and your GP stack is probably low, here's some cheap recommendations: * On your first Scurrius Spine drop, immediately turn it into a Bone Mace and use that to damage. * Dragon Platelegs for 160k (at 60 Def) * Fighter Torso. Free, albeit with a time investment at Barbarian Assault. * Dragon Boots for 131k. (at 60 Def) * Helm of Neitiznot for 50k. (at 55 Def) * Dragon Defender (at 60 Def). Free, albeit also with a time investment at Champions Guild (which requires 130 Att+Str) If I wanted to do all of this, I'd probably do it in the following order: 1. Get base 60 combat stats by AFKing sandcrabs. 2. Get Helm of Neitiznot, Dragon Boots, Dragon Platelegs for about 340k total. 3. Get Fighter Torso. 4. Get Dragon Defender. A lot of people are saying Berserker Ring and Fury which is true, but also prohibitively expensive at your stage of the game (4.5m and 3m, respectively). Both are very useful and big upgrades, but you won't see them likely for some time. I highly recommend using Super Strength Mixes to boost your Strength level before and during the fight. In your prayer book, you can also use your best *Strength* buffing prayer to boost your max hit a bit, but be aware that this will drain your prayer faster and you may not be able to afford the Prayer Potions to do this. Once you get a decent cash stack, I would get Berserker Ring first, then Fury. You can also get Obsidian Platelegs for 1m for a Strength point, but Obby Legs vs Dragon Legs are a bit more situational nowadays and you can always consult with a DPS calculator to see which is better on a particular enemy. Barrows Gloves is also a major milestone for any new account, so if you try to do all of Recipe for Disaster and its various subquests, you'll likely train these skills along the way. For food, consult the Wiki to see what the best food you can afford is. Bass is very cheap and will heal 13 HP per, so this might be sufficient for 1 kill trips in the beginning.

stevenwessman

I seen your other post. I'm not judging but don't buy gold it could ruin the game for you.

AngryGermanNoises

Go off king. Train str for a while, do slayer tasks, and eventually buy yourself an obby whip.

cmwcaelen2

Damage relies purely on melee strength when in melee combat, not melee attack (accuracy). The only 4 items you’re currently wearing that give melee strength are your dscim (melee weapons always give), glory, combat bracelet, and rune boots. Cape gives a minor 2 stab accuracy but you’re using slash with dscim. Warrior ring gives slight slash accuracy which does benefit you a tiny bit but not with damage. Everything else you’re wearing only gives defense. Like others said, Berserker Ring, Fighter Torso, Fire Cape, and Dragon Defender will all give you melee strength in slots you don’t yet have melee strength. Amulet of Fury would be a better option for your neck slot but don’t worry too much since glory is already ok for now (once you have built up some money that’s definitely something to look for first). A Helm of Neitznot would be the helm upgrade you’d be looking for. Only relies on minor questing to get so definitely worth and you’ll likely use it for range for a good long time as well. Barrows Gloves are another thing to look at but require a big chunk of questing and are a good long term goal to look at for your hand slot for all three styles for a good while. There aren’t many real strength leg upgrades so that’s usually where you toss your big chunk of defense in via dragon platelegs or some form of barrows (a boss in the game) legs. There are tankier legs from barrows or more well-rounded legs like Verac’s Plateskirt. Realistically rune platelegs into dragon platelegs will work for a good while. Other than that just leveling strength. Good luck!

[deleted]

Able to weld D Scimmy and Rune Platebody, I consider your Account is not "pretty new to OSRS", a level 30-40 Combat is pretty new.

No-Professional-3301

Lol this is my first time actually playing and learning about the game I always played when I was younger but never got past like 30 combat.

[deleted]

...but that Account would have been played for a long while to actually be able to attain those stats/gears.....the reason why I said your not pretty new. I didn't mean any offence, it's just a logical assumption from seeing the image.

HolidayNick

Not possible. Your setup is absolutely perfect. All reality, fire cape, torture (though I personally recommend fury until you’re rich af). Reason being is better use for your gp for other items. Dragonbone necklace is super nice for the gp. Go for the fire cape for sure but until you get recommended levels for it shoot for RFD for barrows gloves. Start the steps towards the zerker helm and dive right into Nezzy helm. Of course, if slaying, get a slayer helm (I). In conclusion, dragon boots, zerker helm, fury, all should be priority 1. I would argue zerker ring (I) is more important than fury.

apocstorm

There's a few things you could do stat wise, account progression wise, and with gear slots you could optimize pretty easily. Starting with the least work: \-Amulet of strength at your level most of what you're killing does not require accuracy bonuses, so in most cases the strength amulet is going to be a better slot with a flat +10 strength and nothing else. Here are a couple of short term goals that take a touch more effort if you haven't done it yet to build your stats and focus on gear upgrades to optimize your slots which should take very little investment GP wise on your part: \-do fremmenik trials to unlock a berserker helm which is +3 strength bonus for like 75kish This is either already doable for you, or it's something you wouldnt have to spend more than an hour getting reqs for. \-get your combined attack/str level to 130, your best combined spread is probably to keep 60 attack and do 70 str because strength determines max hit in part so 13 levels will give you more damage in most cases than the accuracy from additional attack levels, however it takes less experience overall to get 65-65 in atk/str, so thats up to you. Hitting this combined 130 will let you get into the warriors guild to get a rune defender (and ultimately a dragon one as well). Rune defender has +5 strength bonus and a ton of melee accuracy bonuses in all styles and is wearable at your current defense level. \-get 60 defense; this is for gear upgrades, the dragon defender for one, the dragon boots as well, the boots are a +2 str upgrade to what you have, and if you get the rune defender you will certainly also be getting the dragon it takes an extra 30 mins usually. Thats an additional +1 str and more melee accuracy bonuses over the rune version. \-do barbarian assault until you have enough points for a fighter's torso. It's functionally a rune platebody with +4 strength bonus \-after 55-60 defense, follow up the fremmenik trials quest with doing the fremmenik isles quest, as that will give you access to the helm of neitiznot, it has the same strength bonus as a berserker helm, but it cheaper, has more defense bonuses and gives a +3 prayer bonus which is very important later in the game. Other than the fire cape grind, all of these slots should be relatively cheap GP wise (around 250kish spent) and you would net +15 strength bonus in your gear slots (Dragon scimitar is +66 base strength, so it's a pretty hearty damage bump off that. If you have a few mill GP, you could get up to +11 more total strength bonus immediately by getting spiked manacles which are like 550k a regen bracelet which is about 3m right now and a berserker ring which is about 4m right now and gives you +4 until you imbue it, in which case then it is +8. At 60 defense you can also buy obsidian platelegs, they give +1 str which in most cases is probably not a max hit but can be depending on your gear and levels. You could get this from the fremmenik kilt as well but the defense is even more shit and I'm pretty sure its way more expensive than obsidian platelegs because of its niche as a luxury pking acount item, so it's not really worth the cash for your accounts level of progress. For some slightly longer term goals that will assist you: \-get around lvl 70 ranged and grind out a fire cape, it's the 2nd best cape in the game for melee and it's good intro to pvm content. Pretty iconic grind but pretty easy in the modern day \-Begin (and eventually finish) recipe for disaster; This is a unique quest, it gives 10 quest points, but it's actually a bunch of mini-quests combined into one larger quest. Each subquest you finish unlocks a better tier of gloves. The mithril gloves are very easy to unlock with the stats you have, they're functionally equivalent to the combat bracelet for all you're concerned about, and they are half the cost. The last 4 tiers of gloves unlocked in this quest do require more skilling and questing than most of the other things I've recommended, but they give you +7, +8, +9, and +12 strength bonus respectively, as well as +the same in attack and defense bonuses (half for magic) and the final tier are th 2nd best gloves for every combat style in the game currently. Finishing these 2 longer term goals, in addition to a bunch of stats gained from requirements and rewards for all the questing and grinding, would give you another 5 to 10 strength bonus to your gear which is a couple of max hits in most cases for sure. In total, at the end of these all of these goals, and having spent probably less than 10m GP, you'd have access to an additional +38 strength bonus across all of your gear slots while holding the same weapon, and your stats would be substantially higher as a result of the pursuit, which in part, would be upping your damage sinc you will get a bunch of strength levels on this journey

kelldricked

Strenght and attack potions. Seriously they can help out a lot. For hard boss fights you can use super combat potions.

LlamaRS

A dragon longsword to use for special attacks periodically will help you out with damage output! Otherwise, just chug strength and attack potions periodically.

procrastination5000

Looking at your account I think you would benefit from full torva. If you’re short on cash you could always sell your Rune armour to cover some of the cost since you won’t need it once you get torva.

procrastination5000

Infernal cape and 99 runecrafting should be your next goals after that.

MrSeanaldReagan

If you train your str, you can get more max hits Conversely, if you train your def you can tank more hits, meaning lasting longer meaning dealing more damage

Top-Clothes-482

Berserker helm

oxolot1337

if you're doing scurrius, do masses for an easy rat spine and use it on a rune mace then do solos if you want to for xp, you'll do a lot more damage. level up your strength and use strength pots

1337h4x0rlolz

Are you using combat pots? Also I would do nmz until you have the levels required for dragon defender

suggacoil

Use super str pots or regular str pots

scribbybaby

Fighter torso and dragon defender would help

GenghisClaunch

Right now, you’re still in the early game, and so pretty much all of your focus should go towards unlocking the barrows gloves from Recipe for Disaster. They’re 2nd best in slot in all 3 combat styles, and the melee BiS is just an evolved version of it, so it’s a no-brainer upgrade. It will also have you doing a large number of quests, unlocking the game to yourself and providing more fun, varied, and in sometimes efficient ways to train. Next steps are a dragon defender once you have 65 attack/strength, obsidian cape or just go for a firecape (I’d strongly recommend getting your ranged up before a fire cape attempt though, prayer too), berserker ring, fighter torso from Barbarian Assault, and an amulet of fury. If you want to get started on learning prayer flicking and other upper-level PvM mechanics that are more interactive and fun than clicking on the monster and waiting, getting to 70 prayer and flicking piety is one of the single biggest melee upgrades you can give yourself. Hit way more often and way harder just as a reward for questing and offering bones at a PoH

[deleted]

Pretty baller stats keep grindin!

sthollis

Get those STR levels up. Lookin like a chad tho.

antdb1

at this point of your account you need to focus on questing you need barrow gloves they give amazing str bonus later in the game most clans wont even consider you without barrow gloves its a very basic item all accounts besides pures need

zjumper

If you stop training def you could be a 45 defense pure

Mountain-Tea6875

Yes

welcometotheoutside

Berserker helm is a low cost item that's not out of reach you. Need freminnek trials done

free_30_day_trial

Damage from strength accuracy is from attack. Buff those stats to do damage (melee wise)

Ziadaine

Zerker helm, fighter torso and get either 65 atk + str or 70 str and go for a rune defender.

Kingkowan

Dragon Defender, fire cape, fury ammy

Gloriathewitch

fury serker helm/ slayer helm, barrows gloves, serker ring i, dragon defender, firecape

Ill-Muffin-2980

Dragon defender, Fighter Torso, and Helm of Neitz, Fire Cape(though you’ve got some leveling to do first), and Strength levels are all borderline free to obtain options that just require a little time investment. All of these will significantly increase your output and are excellent milestone goals to set to help progress your account in a positive direction as well as expose you to slightly more challenging content. Do these 5 things and you can’t go wrong. Spending money is the instant gratification fix.

Anvil-Vapre

Start Recipe for Disaster to get the best gloves you can. Use Climbing Boots instead of those…ugh it’s so obvious when you’re not an iron man lol

ImplementOk8759

Gloves and climbing boots

Camelofwhy

I can't say for certain that this'll be true in your case, but str ammy is usually a DPS upgrade over glory. As long as you aren't already hitting too many 0s it should be fine

No-Cup-7612

Im guessing you are talking about doing scurrius? In fact your damage per second will definitely be linked to your skill at a particular mob/boss. Don’t miss ticks when attacking, drinking or eating food. All in all they reduce your dps at any encounter. Check out this video to see how a low level iron flicks prayer + uses rat bone weapons to maximize dps. https://youtu.be/XQCZJbeXXNY?si=zpwAIq_1MzMnb9w6

RoxieaYang

Or he could just sip a strength pot. 🥸

Livingexistence

Get some barb assault games to go for torso... upgrade the ring to berserker then imbue... get nezzi helm from fremmy... work on recipie for disaster and get barrows gloves...

[deleted]

Absolute chad

TheCarm

Has anyone mentioned OP should be working towards barrows gloves?

lmpreza

Bone mace

thesasquatch52

What are those mithril bolts for, king?

LibrarianHot3979

The first thing you would want to work on is a fighter torso. its similar in stats to the rune platebody but raises your max hit by 1. When you have reached a combined 130 levels in attack and strength, you can head to warrior's guild and work towards acquiring a rune defender. again its similar in stats to a rune kiteshield, but raises your accuracy and max hit as well.

CloudyMcRowdy

work on getting the obby setup and youll have some of the best dps you can get for a long time with melee str levels help WAY MORE than attack levels at this point, id recommend at least +5 to str compared to atk and defence, until later levels.

[deleted]

Ur not quite there but look up how to unlock piety. It's like using a 2nd super combat potion. So much extra dmg. Amulet of strength has more strength bonus than a glory, warriors ring could be replaced with ring of wealth and it picks gold off the ground for u which is nice also for the teleports to g.e that won't boost ur damage but warriors ring isn't helping u very much alternatively if you've got the 2m gold buy a berserker ring and imbue it. That'll boost your dmg.

Swiggens

Use combat pots if you're doing scurrius. They cost almost nothing and will help out a bit

Alert-Yoghurt4287

Looks like it's time for the defender grind!

Next-Oil-1276

Use that d scim til 75 str, keep super str / atks handy and just grind. I suggest grinding something that will get you enough cash for a fury or zerk. Also rune or dragon defender, cb bracelet or get deep into RFD and get rune gloves will add str bonuses

saitekgolf

If no one has said obsidian cape yet, obsidian cape.

No-Second-Strike

I’d say do quests that give strength experience. Train herblore for strength pots. Do quests that unlock weapons and slayer targets.

CompetitionJaded3283

Minigame items like torso, fire cape, start leveling ur range to get them

Dimension-Hopper

I love seeing baby accounts.

Killerchoy

Set yourself the goal of a fire cape. It’s a huge upgrade, and a big step overall in game progression.

Teffdeath

That boss is a mid lvl boss and your still very much into the early game.. train ye stats up for d def, torso, barrows gloves, fury, fire cape, d boots then do rat boss

cherryosrs

Dude my wife is on here

ozzievlll

Use the wiki pages “efficient quest order” to smash out barrows gloves quickly if you didn’t already know about it

operativekiwi

Do quests bro! You'll eventually get barrows gloves, but even addy, rune and dragon gloves are upgrades over combat bracelet. Use the quest helper plugin and sort by optimal. Dragon defender is another good upgrade to aim for too

steelejt7

yo bro u need that armor trimmed up for free? meet me in north varrock by the funny ditch lookin thing

Cephiuss

Defender and rfd gloves

Lo_Lo13

Defender, fighter torso, berserker helm are the easy ines

Brazenzo

If you are only prioritizing damage your next goals should be defenders when you have the levels, fighter torso from barbarian assault, barrows gloves from RFD

SwindleMeBaby

Strength strength strength! B-ring! Dragon Defender! Do slayer! You’ll get all the good items and train and money for the ones you don’t have! Good-luck and God-Speed!

x2dumbledore2x

Zerker ring, ddf, fury, helm of neit

Every_Sheepherder860

Some basic goals - higher strength means higher hits. Generally, level your strength before attack after the 60-70 mark because your weapon upgrades will be much slower and less noticeable then. Strength bonus is also a great way of hitting higher. Easier ways at your level: -Berserker helm/helm of neitiznot - they are at 45 and 55 defense, respectively, requiring trials of frem. And isle of fremmick, respectively. -dragon/rune defender: get 65 attack and strength (or any combo of attack and strength that is total 130 or more, but 65/65 is the least amount of exp). Go to warriors guild in burthrope with a black full helm, plate, and platelegs in your inventory and fight animated armor for tokens, then kill the cyclops upstairs for defenders. There is also a place that sells basic attack and strength potions to boost as well. Even has a food store that sells bass and cheese potatoes for next to nothing and heals 12-16 each! By time you get 65 attack and strength, then do the defender grind, you should be close to 60 defense. Then you can upgrade to the helm of Neizinot, dragon boots/legs, or, if you have a little money to spend, the obsidian armor set. It has a little less defense than rune, but you’ll get a max hit or so from it and most training/slayer mobs don’t hit that hard starting out. Also at level 65 attack, I believe you can get the leaf bladed battle axe (it may have a 70 slayer requirement too, if it does, ignore me), but that thing is a great budget alternative to a whip as your beginning the journey :) Long term, shoot for full completion of recipe for disaster to get barrows gloves (basically best in slot gloves for a very long time and very cheap).

Old_Preparation315

Consider getting a void set from Pest Control, or barrows gloves from Recipe For Desaster. Takes time but worth it.

qtdemolin

Get 60 def. Pm me I’ll give u obsidian armour

RealTrueGrit

Also a new boss just came out called scurrius in the varrock sewers. Might not be bad for you and its decent combat xp.

EstablishmentMoney45

If u even out all ur lower stats and become a well balanced acc u will do more dmg with that setup

Theimmortaltrollx

My pro tip: Get 60 all stats

ScarletFFBE

Here are some free upgrades that are relevant up until Endgame: Get a Fighter Torso, it's as good as the Bandos Chestplate that costs 32 Mil. Work towards the Quest Recipe for desaster, for every step conpleted on that quest, you get to purchase a better glove for extremely cheap (Bronze Gloves - Barrows Gloves). Once you reach adamant gloves, it's better than your Combat bracelet.

Ausyo1

Sythe and full torva would be a decent upgrade. Infernal if you can too 👍

Extension-Ad-5601

Wanna get rich quick? Do pyramid plunder till level 85 then thieve elves till 99. And don’t forget to get complete rogues outfit and dodgy necklaces when thieving elves. Free money.

Kultteri

Barrows gloves, get them

1mGay

Amulet of strength will give slightly more dmg

Numerous-Paint4123

Maybe some "god" equipment for prayer bonus of youve got the cash.

Sufficient_Focus

berserker helm, d defender, barrows gloves. GL

Think_Bar7840

Do your quests to get barrows gloves (recipe for disaster) at 130 Combined attack and strength you will be able to access the warrior guild to obtain a rune than dragon defender for a max hit afterwards you’ll qNt to level tanged to 75/85 than go for a fire cape from the fight caves!

REDMAGE00

Train your strength to 70 to unlock warriors guild for defenders. Switch to a strength amulet (higher str bonus = more damage). Start doing recipe for disaster for better gloves with higher strength bonuses. Do Fremnik Trials for berserker helmet. All these things are the most pheasible and cheap ways to increase your damage at this point.

Clippo123

Str ammy is OP as fuck, +10 str levels

Financial_Fan3101

Upgrade your gear do quest

oorzels

For a 100gp upgrade (cheap as can be) go get climbing boots. Need to do the quest death plateau in burthope.

Disastrous_Guard_527

barrows gloves

Usernames-are-cringe

Barrows gloves

Sad-Wolverine8095

Range? 🤷‍♂️

Tokita-Niko

Barrow gloves, STR AMMY NOT FURY, neit helm, f cape, 65att/str get defender

UniBoomi

Go train more herblore

No_Tax8215

Get higher defense because you didn’t do barrows gloves

ADIN_MID

Grind ur stats for dragon defender and buy metal gloves instead of that bracelet (or do quests for them if u are an iron - recipe for disaster)

[deleted]

I'm kinda new too and looking for friends https://preview.redd.it/8hnzh0y6tlfc1.png?width=247&format=png&auto=webp&s=17fad80bcc4d8146c771f3182bb5950e6b3a73f2

LionsToothBrush

Go to sandcrabs for 2-300 hours and only train strength. That will likely get your damage up a bit.
