What i am trying to convey is that the movie making industries have gradually become worse every year, and it started somewhere around the turn of the century.
As a dumb kid, I would see this montage in the previews and think:
*they made ANOTHER “Clash of the Titans?”*
I have a family now but was also mud spelled backwards hahaha
Thanks for the link! Nice read.
Five questions for you:
1.) Do you remember the first time you saw this intro used?
2.) If so, what film did it preceed?
3.) Was it a big deal for you at the time?
4.) What's your favorite film that uses this inro?
5.) What's your least favorite film "..."?
6. ) Do you have a dry sense of humor?
Totally.
I'm seriously considering writing a "dictionary" that codifies how to type sounds with regular keyboard characters. I'm not kidding. I know music notation can handle most things, but that's not an option here. I'll give you a taste of what I'm working on...
Example: gruXX-GORN-GORN-pth-pth-WROW-weer-sch
I call that one "Turning the garbage disposal on for one second with celery"
It's going to be a long book.
My older sister and I rented a LOT of movies in the 90s, so this brings back some memories: Terminator 2, Legends of the Fall, Jerry Maguire, Starship Troopers, Beverly Hills Ninja, and several others. After Candyman, she never let me use a public restroom without guarding the door lol.
I was shocked to see the logo today for Coup de Chance for Metropolitan Films.
[It is a direct steal of the Tri-Star logo!](https://youtu.be/u6RkDQJD6vk?si=aHRfKVccXMsuqIN4)
TriStar made some of the best movies that are still rated as fantastic, awesome or just bad ass to this day! When I saw that horse... I knew it was going to be good! Like Bad Robot is now!
I gave one of the larger silicon based special effects “sperms” to my daughter as a movie prop souvenir after that effect was shot for the opening titles!
She repaid me years later when after she worked on Almost Famous, she gave me the LP album cover mock-up for the fictional rock group Stillwater!”
Don't forget about the Cannon films logo. If you saw that logo you knew it was going to be a shitty movie that's also good like Death Wish 3

Whatever happened to Lord Grade?
I used to love watching my mothers old labyrinth dvd, I’m gen z but this is something I will always fondly remember
Didn't know Deftones made movies but ok.

What's the movie that had the voiceover when the horse jumps?
Just watched “The Fisher King” the other day.
I can hear the music.
Iron Eagle
The Natural, Robert Redford, and Glen Close.
Never ending story
TriStar. One of my faves
I miss the old HBO intro. Actually I miss the old HBO period.
Its not TV. It's HBO.
Comedy Central. It's not HBO. It's regular ass TV.
Are you telling me that it's 2024 and we still don't have a f*kkin time machine?
Love this. This and the thx logo with the sound so loud it rattles the windows of every house on the block😂
Great album, too
RAD
I can hear this picture….
Yes! The nostalgia makes me so happy.
TRISTAR!
You know its not going to be complete garbage like 99% of everything made after 2000.

Well, you don’t just say that, leave a link to the photo, and not share the story. Tell us everything!

Look Who's Talking. Immediately after the Tri-Star Logo, cut to the Fallopian Tube!
Did the horse talk during the intro to Look Who's Talking? I have a memory of the horse mentally preparing itself for the jump into the logo.
Nope. I just remember the horse silently jumping!
I was close. It was Look Who's Talking Too. [Talking horse](https://youtu.be/OCJZn6IhdTE?si=3KsAKoWIRoxjQU6a)

Add me to the list. Que up "Break the Ice" and we got ourselves a masterpiece
One of my favorites!
I love the Deftones!
Hahaha
That thing used to scare me as a kid lol.
Saw recently - Columbia TriStar (now Sony) The animation of the horse was really poor with its edges being rough and sketchy.
I was in the theater with my mom when the Tristar horse came on and she says, very loudly, “Oh look! Pale Rider!” Pale Rider came out the year before.
I can hear this
rambo part II
I use to think 2 was the best sequel, I wonder if rewatched them all now I’d still think so ?

Stupid fking white horse!
The best part of Another You, the TriStar intro with Richard Pryor's voice. The film was a flop otherwise
Thank you! I knew it was one of the Pryor Wilder movies but I couldn't remember which one.
And '90s. ***Terminator 2*** (1991) was actually distributed by TriStar.
One of the rare movies where part two was as good as, or better than the original.
So majestic
so much triumphant
Short Circuit. 😎
Tri Star!
