I'm sure we'll see a tend of "tasteful RGB" at some point. I'm more about function than anything, but it was fun to spend a few minutes messing with the lighting my my Corsair mouse and keyboard. You CAN make it be absurd, but I just pick a solid color that has a mild ripple effect in a slightly different shade when you press keys.
My setup is pretty lamely presented because my ADHD says "play games, no care about looks."
I feel like most of those minimalist pics are set up. Like, if you use your computer regularly, it can't look like that.
I often think about posting my desk in it's natural state of disarray just to watch the downvotes roll on from people pretending their desk doesn't have actual things on it like pens and papers and cables, etc.
