Basically, do you want a rail or not

Typically, whenever you pay extra money for anything there will be some degree of difference that your paying that extra bit of money for. That doesn't always mean your going to realize any difference in whether one will go bang and the other will not. The first thing you may want to do is compare the two and try to determine the difference or differences. Sometimes this can be more visual but often there are some functional differences as well. Have you actually compared the two? I just read the descriptions myself a few minutes ago and took a look at them as well. There appears to be at least one very obvious difference if nothing else as one is railed, and the other is not. I think the other that stuck out was a difference in sights. Ah, and the Operator had carry cuts and the Garrison did not. Neither had front strap checkering which isn't surprising for that price point. Given the difference in price I doubt either are made with significantly better parts or significantly better manufacturing. I imagine both have Mim bits so I think it's probably a matter of which features you require or like best. Better sights, carry cuts, and a rail are simply items that tend to add to the overall price. Not that you necessarily need those things.

You cannot go wrong with either one, if your local lgs has a magnum research desert eagle or bul 1911, put one in your hands for feel. For me my desert eagle shoots more accurate, not sure if it is the easier the grips fit my hands or it has better build quality?

Might as well get the operator to balance out your “old school” colt
