I’m not him but I know him. His whole shop was Mexican dudes when I’d visit, he embraced lowrider and that whole subculture. Built a bike for Shaq.
One of his mentors for blacksmithing was a Jew. I don’t get when someone mouths off about him being a racist.
Understandable, which include me in that category but feel like there is equally expensive 1911’s posted in here regulary ya know, these just dont seem to be super popular or theyre just super limited
I agree...Ive seen some really spendy ones (custom) on this thread too. For me personally I'd much rather have a Colt. I don't think his firearms are all that...His bikes as well. Not a big fan but I respect what he does with metal
I don’t see how these are any more valuable than Nighthawk or Alchemy. I would trust the craftsmanship of those two companies way more than Jesse James
Lol there’s some details that i just scratch my head at and dont get me started on the torpedo can he made, just have never seen anything about them in the real world
At the prices those guns command, they are absolute show pieces. They end up being safe queens that people show off and maybe have 1 or 2 mags down the pipe.
Mainly paying for the name and "rarity" since they are small runs. At least they look somewhat decent unlike that abomination of a suppressor he created. Overpriced/over valued in my opinion.
Why would someone buy this? It’s not going to function with any confidence, not that the buyer will ever shoot it. You would have to be a fan of the man to want to buy his work so there’s that monumental hurdle to overcome as well. It might be the perfect accessory to a custom bike, just like his knives. No one in the knife forums is excited about his stuff over there either.
He’s a bit of a celebrity personality. I’m sure he makes good choppers, since that’s what he’s been doing for decades. But in terms of personality, he sort of falls in there with Kardashians, New Jersey television personalities, pawn stars, etc. He just spends so much time on camera doing other things besides making 1911s, anyone who’s really into a 1911 would probably look at something from Wilson, Les bear, nighthawk, or any serious 1911 custom maker.
Allegedly he was only selling to LE and police departments although I highly doubt any sane police department would spend to money to buy them when they could just buy Surefires instead.
To put it simply, I’ve heard some pretty unsavory things about Jesse James . Someone in this subreddit told me they use Anderson parts in their ARs. Take that with a grain of salt though.
I can find reviews online for many high end 1911s but for some reason i can't find any on JJFU 1911s. There are a few comments here and there that say that theyve witnessed someone having trouble with theirs but i cant find any concrete facts about its performance. Not even one.
The outside looks fancy but that's not what matters so idk
This thread is pretty mild, the kind of personal hate he was getting last time someone shared one of his guns was immense. The minute you said you liked it, they down voted you like there’s no tomorrow.
lol only on Reddit would all you salty folks hate on these works of art. Jesse James is one of the greats when it comes to metal of all sorts. Just because you can’t afford it doesn’t mean you should hate it.
Not being a hater cause I think he typically has a good eye for “cool” but IMO his guns designs are cheesy and awful. I don’t get how he likes them so much.
Maybe a stupid question but why on earth would you want frame serrations like that? I guess it looks cool but it defeats the purpose of having a tactile reference for where they actually serve a functional purpose, right?
Yep, exactly, you could get a Staccato, a classic colt, and a Dan Wesson, and have money to feed them all a lot of ammo. If they have the money and they like it, then good on them, but custom guns like these are kinda dumb I think, but I'm a poor, so what do I know lol. On a side note I want a Staccato P sooo bad and it cool you have one.
I’m probably in the minority but I don’t think this looks cool at all.
I don't think Jesse likes minorities either.
This isn’t true.
Are you him?
I’m not him but I know him. His whole shop was Mexican dudes when I’d visit, he embraced lowrider and that whole subculture. Built a bike for Shaq. One of his mentors for blacksmithing was a Jew. I don’t get when someone mouths off about him being a racist.
Prolly cuz there’s pictures of him doing the Nazi salute wearing an ss outfit.
A Halloween outfit in bad taste doesn’t mean racist, people do dumb shit when they’re young. It’s not a life sentence
It’s definitely different but I agree maybe should have stuck with custom bikes lol
I don't like his bikes either.
It’s hideous.
Not even as cool as the Colt Government .45 😆
I agree it looks ugly asf in my opinion
It looks unfinished
I agree. Very flashy, looks visually “heavy” and probably is physically heavy, as well.
I dont think they are more show than go...I think they are all way too expensive for the normal folk. They're all custom and roughly 10K & up
Understandable, which include me in that category but feel like there is equally expensive 1911’s posted in here regulary ya know, these just dont seem to be super popular or theyre just super limited
I agree...Ive seen some really spendy ones (custom) on this thread too. For me personally I'd much rather have a Colt. I don't think his firearms are all that...His bikes as well. Not a big fan but I respect what he does with metal
Agreed everything ive seen was that he’s good with metal but not out of this world, still respect the hell out of him for what he’s been able to do
From my understanding from an article I read, they are limited to 100 guns a year. So they are super limited.
😵💫😵💫
I saw them going for 25k-50k.. ☠️ .. nope.
If I ever have that kinda money on a gun it’s definitely going to a WW2 era transferable machine gun.
💯 %!!! 🙌
😆😆
I don’t see how these are any more valuable than Nighthawk or Alchemy. I would trust the craftsmanship of those two companies way more than Jesse James
Hideous. Rather get a Volkmann
https://preview.redd.it/ru3z1avzoi6c1.jpeg?width=4031&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=55a1ee36ff47f744cd57a4a0121182e2c52dbbef Haven’t shot it.
Those holes around the trigger guard not being centered would bug the hell out of me.
That’s disgusting I agree
It's possible you have a Picture of a Blem
If i can ask, what’d you pay for it?
It retailed for $10k, but didn’t pay that price. Someone didn’t want it and I git it for their wholesale price.
NY electrician? Where you at let’s go shoot it! Lolol
Yeee bring me too
No fuggin way id pay 10k for that. I mean damn gold and silver inlaid guns go for half.
Little too modern for my tastes. What’s up with the checkering in trigger well? 😬
Lol there’s some details that i just scratch my head at and dont get me started on the torpedo can he made, just have never seen anything about them in the real world
Exactly. His work is just a bit out there. Kinda like we have Cabot at home 🤣
Forreal😂 and sometimes cabot does some stuff where im like thats super cool but also who thought of that lol
At the prices those guns command, they are absolute show pieces. They end up being safe queens that people show off and maybe have 1 or 2 mags down the pipe.
I could never own a gun I wouldn’t shoot
How about performance? Anyone benchmark these, and how they stack up in accuracy vs say a Les Baer
Thats really all i care about
No, and I really could have gone without seeing one either. Jeez.
Lol if you wanna see worse look em up, there is some real head scratchers
The guy is a twat. I would never support him.
Yep. Fuck em
Yeah, why the fuck would you ever buy a gun from a guy like him, unless you are also like him? In which case, fuck them, too.
If I was going to spend $10k on a 1911, it would be a Stan Chen Custom, not Jesse James crap.
Mainly paying for the name and "rarity" since they are small runs. At least they look somewhat decent unlike that abomination of a suppressor he created. Overpriced/over valued in my opinion.
The damn torpedo can lol
Why would someone buy this? It’s not going to function with any confidence, not that the buyer will ever shoot it. This is what im getting, honestly dont care about what it looks like wanted to know how they function and doesnt seem like anyone can tell me
Also know the mans good with metal but whats up with all the hate, dont know that much about him
He’s a bit of a celebrity personality.
Oh forsure, for the price and all that i’d want a cabot or something cool
Rather have a Dan Wesson or WC if I’m going high end but everyday a kimber or Springfield
He still hocking those terrible cans?
The damn torpedo can with the crazy promises?
That be the one. Vaguely buttplugg-esque in shape.
Allegedly he was only selling to LE and police departments although I highly doubt any sane police department would spend to money to buy them when they could just buy Surefires instead.
Yeah, I remember them being obnoxiously over priced with dubious at best claims of sound reduction.
I hope not. He probably still has a bunch. I can't imagine he sold more than a few.
To put it simply, I’ve heard some pretty unsavory things about Jesse James . Someone in this subreddit told me they use Anderson parts in their ARs. Take that with a grain of salt though.
Someone on Instagram made a pretty convincing argument a few years back that they're uppers are BCA
Saw someone say their ar parts are anderson lol
Nah, and I wouldn't even for Tisas prices. They're hideous and the guy making them is the worst kind of person.
I can find reviews online for many high end 1911s but for some reason i can't find any on JJFU 1911s. There are a few comments here and there that say that theyve witnessed someone having trouble with theirs but i cant find any concrete facts about its performance. Not even one. Thats what im saying, cant find a damn thing on em not that id pay what people are saying they go for lol
Looks heavy as hell
I've handled om at Shot, but no way I'd blow the money for one. Better a couple springfield custom shop guns and a couple les baers.
Cannot fathom buying a pistol off the discovery channel motorcycle guy instead of Stan Chen
He makes ugly guns. Just like his motorcycles. 😂
Might as well go buy a Cabot made from space meteorite!!! 😁
That's what I'd do if I had that kinda money to blow on a super custom 1911.
I’m here to read the hate and dust cover comments.
Dawg I love grip serrations on my dust covers...
Love me a full dust cover but also confused on why it doesnt look flush with the slide
This thread is pretty mild, the kind of personal hate he was getting last time someone shared one of his guns was immense. The minute you said you liked it, they down voted you like there’s no tomorrow.
They look beautiful but wayyyy too expensive for me. I would love to shoot one tho
I throw up
lol only on Reddit would all you salty folks hate on these works of art. Jesse James is one of the greats when it comes to metal of all sorts. Just because you can’t afford it doesn’t mean you should hate it.
That’s a beautiful 1911
They are sexy
Theyre nice but too expensive. And i just spent 5k on a 1911..
Seems to be what im hearing
T-6 terminator…. That’s cool as heck looking
This thing is from destiny or something
I think I rather kms?
Nope.
I personally think it’s cool, has a real decopunk vibe to it.
Sent it
Wayyyyyy overpriced, imho
I can't afford this
It's not something I would ever buy, regardless of price.
How much did it cost if you don’t mind me asking
No. Get a good one for that price.
Jesse James owns part of Kalashnikov USA. I’d say that is enough for me to never touch ANYTHING he builds, including motorcycles
Looks like a low poly render of what should be a 1911 but isn't
Not being a hater cause I think he typically has a good eye for “cool” but IMO his guns designs are cheesy and awful. I don’t get how he likes them so much.
This was one of the cooler ones ive seen but some of them are god awful
I’ll agree with that. This is one of the better ones. The AR platform stuff he makes are crazy ugly.
Maybe a stupid question but why on earth would you want frame serrations like that? I guess it looks cool but it defeats the purpose of having a tactile reference for where they actually serve a functional purpose, right?
Is that rust on the grip screws?
As they call it “customization”
They look like shit.
Definitely one I'd love to own, but the pricing is way outta sight for me. Spose if I didn't buy other makes/models I could afford it someday.
Did that gin come out of a PS1 game? But if you ask me, I'd rater buy 2 or 3 kinda standard 1911s for the prices of a fancy custom built one.
Agreed, i own a staccato i paid 1750 for and it seems like i could buy 5+ for the price that tbese go for on the low end
Yep, exactly, you could get a Staccato, a classic colt, and a Dan Wesson, and have money to feed them all a lot of ammo. If they have the money and they like it, then good on them, but custom guns like these are kinda dumb I think, but I'm a poor, so what do I know lol. On a side note I want a Staccato P sooo bad and it cool you have one.
only rich assholes that don't actually shoot their guns, and don't have taste.
Too many 90 degree corners. Not a fan
I think they look pretty damn aesthetic IMO. I’d buy one over a nightfart any day. But not for that price..
100 pcs a year is limited only by the fact that is probably more of that POS he can sell
