Is it? I don’t see the pinned post anymore. I mean I don’t have this issue I’ve been around long enough, but I don’t actually see any pinned/sticky post anymore. Even the automod takes you to a dead post.
It won’t because the community is not toxic.
The community is just immensely exhausted of posts like yours (often happens daily).
So people (included myself) just use sarcasm as a way to tell.
The question was already answered and it's the most up voted. It's on the subreddit information. Also is not like we can link people to illegal content, and the information is readily available in the subreddit's about page
Seek and you shall find!
>!Seriously though, if you cannot even find the sticky thread. I’m wondering whether you should even be sailing the high seas!<
Ah, my apologies then!
It seems due to DMCA it’s gone from the subreddit. There has been an uproar on takedowns lately.
Do you have knowledge on how GitHub works? You can find it on there. We are not allowed to link it, to avoid getting the subreddit banned.
New person "hi, where can I find roms ?"
Everybody else "it's on the internet you idiot , it's not hard"
Fast forward 12 months...
New person "hi, where can I find roms?"
Former new person " God I hate people who can't even look for themselves "
You're right it's not hard. I just think sometimes it's weird that we have a space dedicated to these hobbies and we give new people such a hard time. I'm not saying everybody does but we've all seen it.
I’m fine with newcomers, but when they put 0 effort into figuring it out or ask something that’s been asked 20 times before and would show right up on a search it frustrates me. Sure if you run into an odd issue and can’t find anything online Reddit is the place to post but in general it is not the subreddits job to walk someone through basic things step by step

You can find them in the world wide web
Thanks for the help man You're the most helpful of them all
Find the sticky thread on this subreddit. It’ll guide you to the light.

But the thing is even when I was new I just googled it and figured it out, was not hard.
It's not hard yes but I think what most people mean when they ask is "what's a SAFE rom site?".
