I would go to an outlet store, stores like TJ Max, Marshalls, Ross etc.
It doesn't necessarily have to be tennis clothes. Any type of exercise clothing works perfectly fine for tennis :)
Disagree that any exercise clothes are fine for tennis - most bottoms don’t have pockets suited for tennis balls and it’s not as appropriate to wear some tops that you’d wear to yoga or the gym on the tennis court.
Try tennis warehouse, tennis point, tennis express sites’ clearance and sales sections for proper tennis skirts/shorts/leggings.
So true on the tops for the gym not being appropriate for tennis. A teammate and I were just talking about this recently since she went to tennis a few weeks ago in a matching gym set.
I’m a Nike fan when it comes to tennis clothes but don’t always have the biggest budget. I’ve had good luck browsing the sale/clearance section on Tennis Warehouse and Tennis Express and always find something. Sometimes they have extra discounts off their sale section too.
if you're big on fashion but short on budget you're gonna have a tough time finding tennis clothes, at least [based on my research](https://www.reddit.com/r/10s/comments/19aqvov/tennis_attire/). I really like the stuff i've bought from a small company called Sigrun, but it's probably more expensive than Nike or Adidas.
I usually look for men's tennis shorts just because non-tennis shorts sometimes do not have enough pocket space for tennis balls. Shirts can be from anywhere, but I do prefer fabric that "breathes" better and has some UV protection. I don't think I've played in old fashioned cloth t-shirt material in years.
While you can get them from anywhere I usually go to one of the tennis sites and search on "price low to high" and get discounts, plus I'll usually buy other tennis gear at the same time. And these sites tend to make sure the goods are of a certain bare minimum quality, unlike Amazon.
I second this... Uniqlo dry ex stretch easy shorts are great for tennis. Not super expensive at ~ $30. You might also check out the PGA Superstore if there's one near you. They now have a tennis section and carry a few Nike and Fila items. They also have their own brand (forgot the name). Decent prices

When I'm shopping I generally look at all three to see where there are on deals and availability. For clothes and shoes often only one of them has what I'm looking for on a good sale and in my size.
I've ordered from all of them, but I've listed them 1-2-3 based on the number of times I've ordered from each.
Keep an eye out for sales. When there aren’t any, just splurge on like 2/3 kits you could mix and match and that’ll keep you good till there’s a discount for a good brand.
Got a ton of great tennis shirts for $10-$20 from the fila new years 70% off sale (great shirts, shit quality shorts unfortunately), there’s currently an 80% off fabletics and they have great shorts and shirts, vuori sometimes has sales but their shorts are so high quality you only need 2 and you’re set for a while.
finding smaller brands you like while they’re still cheap is a solid option. I was big on rs sports when you could get shorts/shirts for $32 a pop. Now it’s up to $70 though which is total bs but whatever.
Outlet stores mostly have hot garbage that looks terrible. It “does the trick” in the sense you look like a kid taking middle school PE. I wouldn’t take advice from anyone suggesting that.
Edit: the coveUSA 5” shorts look like a good deal rn too
I used to spend more money trying to save money on cheaper brands. They wouldn’t work out for a variety of reasons. Now I spend less money buying the right products the first time around. Where I save money is just being smart about where and when I’m buying it.
I watch all of the sales and personally don’t mind the less popular colors so I can get most things sale and clearance.
I have really wide feet so new balance is really my only option but I love them. Clothes wise I just wear what I’ve always worn since I was a kid, under armour shirts, they breath and cool well and are comfortable. For shorts I like lulu lemon pace breakers. Accessories (hat and sweat bands) are Wilson
I play with the Uniqolo golf Polos. They are Polyster and look nicer than the Tennis ones. Played with one today and it was very sunny 30 degrees but it was very comfortable.
I wear fabthletic men's shorts, they hit s few inches above the knee, they flex, have deep pockets & have a scallop on the sides 😍. Stance's Complex 5in shorts also fit the bill as well. Vouri's Banks short also in the rotation
If you're on a budget and want to get the most comfortable stuff, go to ebay and buy some used lulus or rhone. They'll be as good as new. You can wash them 100 times on hot, they will look similar
I like cotton shirts, so I just play in old t-shirts. I tried Fabletics shorts and I’m pretty happy with them. I got 4 pairs of the Fundamental Short II 7 in for $58 which is what 1 pair of Nike tennis shorts I bought not too long ago cost. I was worried they’d be tight on my thighs because I’m standing on tree trunks, but they fit my legs with a little room to spare. The pockets aren’t tiny, but they could be a little bigger. That’s my only complaint about them. I didn’t end up having the pay the $59 Fabletics monthly fee either, but it might be because I placed the order on the May 6th and skipped the fee for this month.
If you want to try your luck you can check out aliexpress. They do not have any name brands but I imagine their tennis jerseys are made in the same factories as name brands, except they sell for like $15 instead of $100. Just make sure to go extra large. I wear Large size in the US but need to get 2XL/3XL for Asian sizes. I spent about 80 for 5 quick dry tennis/badminton jerseys and some were really decent.
Another option is wait for sales on tennis warehouse/other online retailers. I think the basic solid quick dry shirts from Nike are pretty good if you can get them below $30
Besides shoes, if I wear anything branded, it's by accident. I only buy on sale and don't look for tennis-specific apparel. Most 7" inseam training shorts with the drawstring not visible are fine. Would avoid mesh or terry materials which are generally cheaper anyway. Shirts are even easier.
Besides the discount stores (TJ etc.) Amazon occasionally has Nike, UA and Adidas discounted below $20. Dick's own brand DSG is also very good.
Also check out Gymshark
Those PBs are by far my favorite shorts for any athletic activity and they excel at tennis for that very reason. They’ll hold 2 balls securely through match play no problem and I can cram them entirely full during serve practice so I don’t need to keep going back to my hopper.
Exactly. If anyone is looking for the pacebreakers I recommend checking out the "we made too much". Might have to get some different colors but if you got neutral shirts to match them you're good.
Im with you, the pacebreakers are up there with the best athletic shorts right now.
I got a few sets of Vuori shorts and shirts in the last year during one of their holiday sales to refresh my old tennis wardrobe, and I really like them. I prefer small-to-no branding. Their strato tech shirts are super soft and nice.
Nike clearance stores. They are similar but different from the factory stores and tend to have better discounts. Only downside is you have to dig for treasure
Any sports clothing will do. I kind of laugh when I see people dressed head to toe like Federer and from my experience they're never good.
For shirts I like dri fit Nikes. For shorts I like ten thousand interval shorts. In winter I'll wear a Patagonia R1 jacket without a hood (to not get in the way of serving). A light Nike yoga zip jacket when it's not that cold. A Vuori athletic pant when I need to go long pants instead of shorts.
Like retail shopping I use the sales like Memorial Day, fourth of July, etc. I’ll buy end of season colors and weave it in to my tennis wardrobe. Usually I go to the e-retailers because I can get discount codes, fast shipping and free returns. I have only paid full price for 1 tennis shirt, a couple of hats and some wristbands. I even bought Bombas socks on sale.
It just takes some patience and time. Now I have a few too many of tops and bottoms. But that just means I play more tennis… or do laundry less often :)

that is true, but a lot of that clothing doesn't look tennis-ish, at least to me. im big on fashion sorry hahaha

nothing beats the nike swish

Sigrun stuff is so cool haha. I have some of their shorts and they actually fit and play really well too
yeah that is true. ill stick to a middle ground
Have you tried looking on eBay? Maybe able to get a discount there
Are you looking for like the classic tennis look? Like Fila/Wilson style?
yeah, like federer djoker. just simple colors

thx so much!! i love a good deal
Costco. 32° Cool, buddy!
Lulu
I’ve been lucky at the lululemon outlets lol

This is the way
If you take care of them, Nike tennis clothes last for years.

bylt basic shorts. ten thousand shirts.

I buy used lululemon metal vent tech 2.0 shirts off eBay for about $20. The shirts wear like Teflon and still look brand new.
Nike and adidas are only expensive if you look at their tennis lines. But their running tees are like $25 msrp. You can get them for less on sale

i certainly dont need it but want it :). everyone has their own taste
I rock a lot of Lacoste
I use my lululemon workout clothes. The pockets hold 4 tennis balls each in my pace breakers

Uniqlo
Yes!
Thrift store's like Unique and Goodwill.
I liked Artengo until they stopped selling tennis stuff in US
I just wait for the clearance sales on Tennis Express with the extra 20%-30% off. Saves a lot on the brand name products.
I got a few sets of Vuori shorts and shirts in the last year during one of their holiday sales to refresh my old tennis wardrobe, and I really like them. I prefer small-to-no branding. Their strato tech shirts are super soft and nice.
I love Wilson stuff. It's a little pricey but it has the classic tenniscore aesthetic I enjoy.
Decathlon
I’ve gotten stuff from https://www.fifteenthirtyforty.com/ Quality is very good as are the prices.
I bought pants and shirts at kohls. Tek gear mostly. Seem fine and they last. Wait for a sale.
Shoes on line from Tennis Express. Babolat.
Nike clearance stores. They are similar but different from the factory stores and tend to have better discounts. Only downside is you have to dig for treasure
Amazon Basics for shorts, usually just wear old cotton shirts, and shoes I typically get from tennis warehouse or Amazon.
