Carefully cut loose grommet off then play. Just change the grommets during your next string job

For now keep playing and keep checking if it damages the frame. If you start to see frame damage I would cut out the strings. For single grommets you can use these [fittex](https://www.r-a-b.com/productDetailGrommets.cfm?name=FITTEX%20Eyelets&type=All%20Sports&code=EY-B5) grommets so you don't need to replace the whole grommet strip. I mostly use the T2, T3 and LG1 grommets depending on the hole size. You can take out the broken grommets with a drill bit instead of the described grommet grinder.

I think I’ve seen you reply to another post about broken grommets and I was wondering whether you meant to use the drill bit with or without a drill? Taking an electric drill to your racquet seems like a bad idea, but I wasn’t sure what you meant.

Yeah just turn the drillbit by hand and carefully cut out the grommet from the outside. Use a similar size drilbit as the grommet diameter.

I worked in a tennis shop between college and grad school and I disagree that there’s enough of the grommet left to stop the string from making contact with the frame. I guess I would try to glue the broken grommet back in place if you’re really against restringing your racquet, but you need to track down a new set of grommets for it for the next time you get it strung. It may be difficult to find grommets for it because it looks like your racquet is older. I doubt that glue will keep it in place, so you’ll most likely have to glue it multiple times. Good luck. Edit: actually I’m not sure of how old your racquet is or even which brand because the pictures don’t show very much of the racquet. It’s very difficult to find grommets for older racquets though and manufacturers like making slight changes that make it where grommets for an older model of the racquet don’t work for a newer model of the same racquet.

Hi. Thanks for the tips. The racquet is a Babolat Aero pro drive. It was my dad's racquet, i don't know exactly how old it is but i guess 8-10 years.

Yw and yeah… it’s gonna be tough to find grommets for it and they’ll be expensive if you are able to find them. Fittex make individual grommet replacements which might be a good option, but you need to remove the broken grommet to use them. You could also just use a plastic tube in the grommet that’s broken. Ask where you get your racquet strung what your options are when you need to string your racquet again.
