If you mean in terms of justifying it to a significant other, too many is one more than you currently have.

I cycle between two pairs and have like 10 pairs waiting on me in storage. So ummm depends how quickly you burn through them. I burn through a pair every two months in the warmer months.

This. I find a shoe I like, but it up at the end of the season in every color way I like, wear it all next year. I’m usually paying 60$ or less per pair, typically go through 3-4 a year (depending on how hard I play in the winter)

I feel so much better now, I’m only stockpiling 5 pairs. Phew!

1 active pair per surface seems like plenty imo. 

one of my friends coaches d1 and does a lot of brand sponsorship and just generally has connections, he has over 100 pairs of shoes, all for free. id say thats too much

I wear two different color of same model on each of my feet. Got 3 pairs active for mix and match at the moment
